58 KOINE GREEK WORDS

THAT CAN CHANGE YOUR

Introduction

After 25 years of ministry, I believe I have learned some valuable lessons concerning Leadership and Serving. Thank the Lord for all of the wonderful people out there that have stayed the course in their Christian walk in spite of their disappointments along the way in dealing with the Body of Christ. If you have been a believer involved in any local church for any amount of time, you know the issues that are involved with learning to flow with people! It takes a considerable amount of “spiritual energy” to stay in the love walk as Jesus commanded us to do.

This Teaching Syllabus is designed for those who have looked to the Lord and have decided to grow in God and be a blessing to the Body of Christ and to their local church.

I believe we are in the final days before the return of the Lord for His Bride in the Rapture of the Church. In these pages contains many of the privileges and truths that will equip the saint for the work of the ministry in which they are called to serve.

Since 1989, there is a mandate on my life to teach and to train those who have a calling to leadership in their local churches, and to the Body of Christ.

I do not profess to be a scholar in the Koine Greek, but I do know the Holy Spirit orchestrated this book. Enjoy, and, taste and see that the Lord is good! Always remember to stay teachable! We will be learning for eternity.

I dedicate this book to Pastor Bob Yandian and Dean Geof Jackson of Grace Fellowship Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. One of the most amazing times in my life is when I attended their Grace School Of Ministry, it was called School of the Local Church, where I was introduced to the study of the Koine Greek language that forever changed my life and ministry. I encourage every serious Bible Student I know to visit Pastor Bob Yandian’s website at:

Why study the Koine Greek?

The Scriptures tell us to “study to show ourselves approved, workmen that needed not to be ashamed; rightly dividing the word of truth…” (2 Timothy 2:15)

I believe if you could “rightly divide” the word of God, then you could “wrongly divide” it also. We don’t need another man’s opinion. Especially in the hour we are living. There is so much confusion and what was once so clear and concise as a Christian in what we believed about homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and a host of other issues out there, it is vital as a Christian we know what we believe.

Why take time to study, especially words in a different language? In this teaching syllabus, we will endeavor to introduce to the reader certain greek words that contain insights into key Bible Doctrine.

There are a lot of different opinions about Koine Greek Study. Personally, I think it is a must for the bible student who wants to learn all he can about the Word of God. The best way to break down the language the New Testament was written in is to examine the five different characteristics or traits of greek verbage. Tense, voice, mood, person, and number. The English verb only has four; tense, voice, mood, and number.

What is Tense?

It is known as grammatical tense. It is the way language expresses time, and you will know by just looking at the verb if the action or event happened yesterday (as in English verb saw), is happening today (see, is seeing, are seeing), or will happen tomorrow (will see, shall see).

In the present active indicative, the verb is in the present tense and speaks of the action happening today.

Tense is the quality of the verb that has to do with action. There are two outstanding things as to the matter of action,, the time of action and the kind of action. As to time of action, there are three possibilities: past, present and future. . It is also called progressive or continuous action.

What is Voice?

Every verb has a voice. It does not mean that verb can speak, or that it has a sound. The voice of the verb indicates how the subject performs, whether it is doing the action, or it is being acted upon.

What is Mood?

In grammar, this refers to “a category that reflects the speaker’s view of an event’s reality, likelihood, or urgency.

1

What is Person and Number?

In Greek grammar this refers to the category of whether the action is done by the speaker or writer (by the first person, “I,” singular; “We,” plural), or by the second person (“you” plural, “you” singular), or by the third person (“They,” plural; “he,” “she, “it,” singular).

The Tense, voice, mood, and number are all ways to study the Koine Greek. The purpose of this Syllabus is not to study the tenses, but to delve into a storhouse of revelation in these 58 words I have prayerfully selected.

As an author and teacher, my intent is to give the student a working knowledge of certain Koine Greek words in their Biblical setting.

If you are totally confused, don’t sweat the small stuff! You can learn the meaning of these wonderful Koine Greek words in this syllabus!

With the help of the Holy Spirit these words can change your life!

“Do I have to know New Testament Greek to read my Bible? The answer is, no, but someone, maybe not you, has to have a working knowledge of New Testament Greek.

Someone has to study New Testament Greek because someone needs to keep these theologians, translators and debaters honest. These men’s minds have been configured by their own translation philosophies. The awesome part of studying the Koine, is we can ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in our study and to open the Word of God to our hearts and minds.

New Testament Greek is a very picturesque language, and knowing it can be very rewarding. In it, thoughts and sentiments are clothed in very expressive actions and can be viewed as finished or already done (depending on the aorist tense used) It can be viewed as something that will happen in the future. This particular study will not be involved in the different aorist tenses but it will give the Student of the Word more of a working knowledge of key Greek words that unveil tremendous revelation to those who are hungry for revelation knowledge.

How do I use this teaching syllabus?

I ENCOURAGE YOU TO STUDY EACH GREEK WORD BY :

1) READ EACH GREEK WORD AND ITS DEFINTION TWICE.

2) TAKE TIME TO READ EACH SCRIPTURE THAT IS GIVEN TO YOU AND SEE HOW THEY WERE TRANSLATED IN THE KING JAMES VERSION, OR, IN

2

THE PROVIDED VERSIONS THAT ARE ALREADY WRITTEN OUT FOR YOU.

3) STOP AND PRAY. ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO TAKE THE WORD OF GOD AND OPEN ITS MEANING TO YOU. IF YOU CAN PRAY IN THE SPIRIT (SPEAK IN TONGUES) THEN DO SO AS YOU READ THE SCRIPTURES AGAIN.

4) LOOK AT THE GREEK WORD AGAIN.

5) STUDY THE OTHER SCRIPTURE REFERENCES THAT ARE LISTED

6 WRITE DOWN ANYTHING YOU LEARN AFTER STUDYING THAT PARTICULAR GREEK WORD.

1. rhema  rhema

The spoken word of God (Ephesians 6:17) This is a supernatural offensive weapon available to the Christian as he learns to speak out the Word of God out of his own heart, out of his own mouth, related to his own life in every situation.

a) literally speaking forth the word of God from your mouth it becomes a sword known as rhema, or “the spoken word of God.”

Ephesians 6:17

17And take the helmet of salvation (soteria#2), and the sword (machira#41) of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

b) The armor of God is still available today as the Apostle Paul told us to “put on the whole armor of God that we would be able to stand against the wiles (strategies) of the devil. (Ephesians 6:10)

As a Christian you are to put the whole armor of God on daily. You might not be able to see it, but, I am convinced your armor is seen in the world beyond. The only offensive weapon you have as a believer is the sword of the spirit. We must learn how to use the sword by learning to speak God’s word in any situation at any time.

Luke 5:5

5And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

c) what is amazing about this verse is we have Simon, a commercial fishermen by trade and very experienced in knowing where the fish would be, went on a rhema out of the mouth of the Master and received a miracle catch that not only blessed him but all those that were there to throw down there nets!

The following verses use this word rhema:

Mark 9:32

Luke 1:65

Acts 14:18

3

Luke 2:17,50,51

Luke 7:1

John 4:42

Luke 9:45

Luke 18:34

2. Soteria  soteria

Salvation, safety. Health, angelic protection, peace with God, soundness of mind, prosperity, and the peace of God. There isn’t just one English word that compares to soteria.

That happens a lot in the koine greek. Learn as you study these words to keep an open mind, a teachable spirit, and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you not just the definition of these words but their concepts.

Romans 1:16

16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 10:10

10For with the heart (kardia#50) man believeth unto righteousnes; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

I like to call the above verse the “heart and mouth connection.” The power of soteria is released through what we believe and what we speak!

Acts 4:12 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.(sozo #9)

Acts 27:34

34Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.

Acts 27:34 (Amplified Bible)

Amplified Bible (AMP)

34So I urge (warn, exhort, encourage, advise) you to take some food [for your safety]--it will give you strength; for not a hair is to perish from the head of any one of you.

4

a) W.E. Vine’s says, “the present experience of God’s power to deliver from the bondage of sin. It is the maintenance of His peace and harmony. (1 Peter 1:9)

b) To sum up all the blessings bestowed by God on men in Christ through the Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 6:2, Hebrews 5:9, 1 Peter 1:9, and Jude 3)

1 Thes. 5:8 - “…for an helmet, the hope (tharreo #49) of salvation (soteria)

Hebrews 2:3 - “…how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation (soteria) ?”

1 Peter 1:5

3. brephos  brephos

Child, actually translated “child in the mother’s womb”

Luke 1:41

41And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

Luke 1:44 44For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

a) something very powerful happening in Elisabeth’s womb! There is an awareness to spiritual things as John the Baptist leaps in his mother womb.

2 Timothy 3:15

15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation (soteria #2) through faith( pistos #24) which is in Christ Jesus.

b) just to think of the implication of what Paul said to Timothy in this verse. Paul could have used another word for child here but chose the word brephos.

c) only supernaturally could this happen that somehow a supernatural understanding between the unborn child and the Holy Scriptures could be noted and discerned. This takes on a whole new realm of praying over the baby in the mother’s womb. The ability for the mother and father to pray over the fetus and speak the Word of God. There is a degree of understanding on the baby’s part!

4. Sophia    sophia

Wisdom, or, “a broader scope of what’s happening behind the scenes.”

a) this wisdom is not limited to a natural knowing or to the five physical senses.

b) Sophia is a divine knowing that comes from the Holy Spirit.

James 1:5

5If any of you lack wisdom let him ask (aiteo#20) of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

c) literally, if you lack a broader scope of what’s happening behind the scene, then ask (aiteo#20), in other words, “place a loving demand upon the covenant.”

Ephesians 1:8 8Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence (phronesis #18);

Ephesians 3:8

8Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence (phronesis #18);

Ephesians 3:10

2 Peter 3:15

Revelation 13:8

Romans 11:33

1 Corinthians 1:21,24

Colossians 2:3

Revelation 7:12

5. Logos  logos

The written word of God, or, the canonicity of the Word from Genesis to Revelation.

Hebrews 4:12

12For the word of God is quick (alive) , and powerful, and sharper than any two

6

edged sword (machira #44) , piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (kardia #55).

John 1:1-5 (King James Version)

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2The same was in the beginning with God.

___Hebrews 1:3 (Amplified Bible)

Amplified Bible (AMP)

3He is the sole expression of the glory of God [the Light-being, the [a]out-raying or radiance of the divine], and He is the perfect imprint and very image of [God's] nature, upholding and maintaining and guiding and propelling the universe by His mighty word of power. When He had by offering Himself accomplished our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high,

His Word forever holds the worlds together and without it nothing could exist. His Word is so much more than a historical book of reference.

The Bible is far superior to any religion and has the capacity to free any man from Satan’s bondage just by accepting His Word at face value.

The Bible is supernatural. Even Satan can read the Word to see his demise is eminent. Even the prophets speak of his future in Ezekiel, Daniel, Jeremiah, and Revelation.

Jeremiah 1:12 (Amplified Bible)

12Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.

Elder, presbyter, or mature one as in spiritual maturity

Timothy 5:17

especially they who labour in the word(logos #5) and doctrine.

a) Elders and leaders are to become role-models of faith before the congregation.

b) As the deacon helps with tending to the natural affairs of the Local Church, so the Elder (presbuteros) is to aid the Pastor (poimen #17) in the spiritual affairs of the Local Church.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

QUALIFICATIONS OF AN ELDER (PRESBUTEROS)

I TIMOTHY 3:1-13

“THIS IS A TRUE SAYING, IF A MAN DESIRE THE OFFICE OF A BISHOP, HE DESIRETH A GOOD WORK.

A BISHOP THEN MUST BE BLAMELESS, THE HUSBAND OF ONE WIFE, VIGILANT, SOBER, OF GOOD BEHAVIOR, GIVEN TO HOSPITALITY, APT TO TEACH;

NOT GIVEN TO WINE,NO STRIKER,NOT GREEDY OF FILTHY LUCRE;IN SUBJECTION WITH ALL GRAVITY;

FOR IF A MAN KNOW NOT HOW TO RULE HIS OWN HOUSE; HOW SHALL HE TAKE CARE OF THE CHURCH OF GOD?

NOT A NOVICE, LEST BEING LIFTED UP WITH PRIDE HE FALL INTO THE CONDEMNATION OF THE DEVIL.

MOREOVER HE MUST HAVE A GOOD REPORT OF THEM THAT

AND LET THEM ALSO BE PROVED

LET THEM USE THE OFFICE OF A DEACON,BEING FOUND BLAMELESS

WE SEE FROM THESE VERSES THAT WE HAVE READ THAT BISHOPS MUST BE ABLE TO TEACH; DEACONS DO NOT TEACH; THEY ARE THE SERVERS OF THE CHURCH.

VERSE 13 REFERS TO “USING THE OFFICE OF A DEACON.” IF YOU STAND IN THE OFFICE OF A DEACON, USE THAT OFFICE FOR EVERYTHING THAT IS IN IT! USE IF FOR THE GLORY OF GOD! FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN SERVE THAT OFFICE BETTER! WHEN YOU DO, YOU PURCHASE FOR YOURSLEF A GOOD DEGREE! A PROMOTION!

MANY TIMES, THOSE WHO SERVE IN THE CAPACITY OF A DEACON, END UP MAKING THE BEST PASTORS, TEACHERS, AND ELDERS.

GOD PROMOTES THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO SERVE FOR THEIR FAITHFULNESS!

PROVE YOURSELF IN THE OFFICE YOU STAND IN NOW! IF GOD CAN TRUST YOU IN THAT OFFICE, HE CAN TRUST YOU WITH EVEN MORE RESPONSIBILITY.

7. Episkopas episkopas

Bishop, overseer

1 Timothy 3:1

1This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

a) as one who oversees a certain department in a local Church such as Youth Director, Children’s Ministry, Nursery, Usher, etc.

b) Paul said the Believer could desire to be a bishop. This would entail it is possible to be a Bishop without being a Ministry Gift. (Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Teacher, or Evangelist)

c) The connotations of bishop in today’s world is much different than the koine greek. The position of Bishop in the Local Church is to be considered a position of honor and respect. You cannot desire to be a 5 Fold Ministry Gift. It is a calling by God.

d) Those desiring to be an episkopas, Paul said was a good thing. They are not to be a novice. (a baby Christian) You can desire to be a Bishop.

10

e) There is no scriptural reference of anything more than an elder desiring to be responsible over a respective department in a Local Church.

10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

1. The Gifts (charisma) of the Holy Spirit can be divided into three categories:

9. Sozo sozo

Saved, healed, made whole, the blessings of soteria in action

Sozo means to save, heal, or to make whole. There is no exact English word for sozo.

12

a) it means deliverance from danger and suffering. (Mark 13:20, Matthew 8:25, Luke 23:35, 1 Timothy 2:15, John 12:27)

b) deliverance from sickness - Matthew 9:22

j) when you think of sozo, think saved-healed. It is what the Jewish people call, being in “shalom” from head to toe.

Sozo is being well with your spirit, soul, and body. Right now I encourage you to take a deep breath and say, “It is well with my soul.”

10. Ischus  ischus

Power, glory

Ischus can be translated ability or force.

Ephesians 6:10 10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

2 Thessalonians 1:8-9

8In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

a) glory in the above verse signifies the visible expression of the inherent personal power of the Lord Jesus Christ. (W. E. Vines)

b) the full extent of the power of the believer to love God. (Revelation 5:12, Luke 10:27)

Ephesians 1:19

2 Thessalonians 1:9 (The Message)

5-10All this trouble is a clear sign that God has decided to make you fit for the kingdom. You're suffering now, but justice is on the way. When the Master Jesus appears out of heaven in a blaze of fire with his strong angels, he'll even up the score by settling accounts with those who gave you such a bad time. His coming will be the break we've been waiting for. Those who refuse to know God and refuse to obey the Message will pay for what they've done. Eternal exile from the presence of the Master and his splendid power is their sentence. But on that very same day when he comes, he will be exalted by his followers and celebrated by all who believe—and all because you believed what we told you.

1 Peter 4:11

2 Peter 2:11

Revelation 5:12

11. energia energia

Energy, working

a) There is nothing like the energy of God flowing through the believer.

b) There is a super-human energy that can come upon the child of God! His anointing flowing through us is more than we have understood.

Philippians 3:21 21(The Message)

Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

20-21But there's far more to life for us. We're citizens of high heaven! We're

waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our

earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He'll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him.

Ephesians 3:7 7Whereof I was made a minister (huperetes), according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.

Colossians 1:29

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

29For this I labor [[a]unto weariness], striving with all the [b]superhuman energy which He so mightily enkindles and works within me.

Ephesians 1:19

19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

a) energia is translated “working” in Colossians 2:12 and “workings” in 1 Corinthians 12:6.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6 4Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

b)in the above verses, we see the Holy Spirit manages the nine gifts (verse 4), Jesus is over the Five Fold Ministry (verse 5), and, in verse 6 we see it is the Father that “worketh all in all.” meaning, the very energia of God holds all things together and He releases the power to bring forth the nine gifts (1 Cor.12) and the ministry gifts (Ephesians 4:11)

2 Thessalonians 2:9-11

9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

15

10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

c)The Anti-Christ has a pseudo energia and is called the “man of sin” who “receives not the love of the truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thes 2:11)

d) Literally, Satan energizes the man of sin.

12. Dunamis dunamis

Power, ability, inherent power, or power stored up within. We get our English words dynamite and dynamo from this greek word.

Luke 10:19

19Behold, I give unto you power (exousia #26) to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

a) Jesus used two completely different words for power in this verse. The King James translation does not pick up the significance of this verse. The first word for power is exousia which translates to our English word authority.(see #26) The second word for power is dunamis.

b) Jesus was telling the disciples He gave them authority over the ability of the enemy and that nothing by any means could hurt them.

c) when it comes to dealing with Satan, why is authority (exousia) better than the power (dunamis) the devil has against us? I like to use the analogy of a policemen directing traffic in an intersection. When the policemen holds up his hand for a big tractor trailer to stop, the big truck better stop! The policemen could not physically stop the big rig from running over him, but, his authority is recognized way beyond the town in which he serves in. The whole government and civil authorities stands behind the badge the policemen carries. It’s the same way as a Christian when we stand against the strategies of the devil, we use the name of Jesus against Him! All Heaven stand behind that name and the devil knows it! We have exousia against the dunamis of the Devil!

Ephesians 1:19

19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

d) Dunamis is translated:

mighty works - Mark 6:5

might - Romans 8:38

16

power - Romans 1:16,

miracles - Acts 2:22, Acts 8:13, Acts 9:39

Acts 1:8 (King James Version)

8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

e) Jesus said dunamis is released after a believer is filled with the Holy Spirit! If you have not been filled with the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues, I encourage you to stop right now and ask the Lord to fill you with His precious Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:4 (King James Version)

4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

f) Notice who actually did the speaking in the above verse. The people did! You open your mouth and do the speaking, and , the Holy Spirit will bring words to you from within your being. Speak them out! Your mind may tell you that what you are saying is just, “gibberish.” Press in and develop your prayer language into the languages of men and angels.

e) dunamis power comes to you in an experience subsequent to salvation.

Pray this prayer out loud:

Heavenly Father, I come to you now and desire that your Holy Spirit will fill me to overflowing, with the evidence of praying in the Spirit. I thank you and I believe that I now receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, right now, in Jesus’ name. Amen!

13. Kratos  kratos

Ruling power, dominion

1. Kratos denotes the power to oversee, govern, or rule as a King rules over his kingdom.

2. Kratos also denotes supervision as a boss would oversee his employees.

3. Even further, in Genesis chapter one we see Adam and Eve made in the image and likeness of their Creator. (Genesis 1:27)

a. Adam and Eve were given dominion over the fish of the sea, the fowl of the air, and over everything that “creepeth on the earth.” Thus, the First Family had the ability to “oversee” all of the earth from the Garden in which they lived. The Bible also tells us that Adam named many of the animals and watched over them. His

17

ability to supervise his domain was supernatural.

b. Jesus rules (kratos) over His Church and is forever interceding for us.

c. Kratos is also available for the believer. We too are not limited to our natural eye or natural ear. As believers, it is the will of God for the Church to rise up in dominion and take our place in the earth as salt and light.

d. As Adam and Eve “saw” beyond the Garden; the serious koine student could learn (Sophia #4) and see that God’s wisdom on the believer could be compared to the abilities of what Adam had before the Fall.

Ephesians 1:19

19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

14. Proseuche proseuce

Prayer, a two way conversation with God, communion

Ephesians 6:18

18Praying always with all prayer and supplication (deomai #15) in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication (deomai) for all saints

Luke 11 :1

1And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

1 Timothy 2:11I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications,(deomai #15) prayers, (proseuche)intercessions, (entunchano #16)and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

15. Deomai / Deesis  deomaii

Supplicate, supplication, literally “to stand in the gap in prayer who might not seem to deserve our prayers because of a lifestyle contrary to holiness, or toward the things of God.

Ephesians 6:18

18Praying (proseuche) always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints

a) Paul says we put on the armor of God and learn to pray in the correct arena as there are many types of prayer for many types of circumstances of life.

Deomai is about supplicating for other saints whom we might feel are living outside of the promises of God or are in a backslidden condition.

1 Timothy 2:11I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

b) Paul tells the believer to deomai for their leaders, spiritual or natural leaders meaning “all those who are in authority over us.”

c) the importance of deomai for all those in authority over us should not be underestimated. Where would the Body of Christ be today if we would have learned to pray for our fallen Pastors instead of “writing them off” after they failed us?

d) The Apostle Paul told Timothy in the above verse; first of all, when you come together as a Body, these are the things that need to be accomplished. Notice that supplications is done in the Church Service.

e) Supplications are done for our Governmental leaders. It doesn’t matter if you don’t like who they are. It doesn’t matter if they are not your favorite political party. Deomai is released in the prayers of the saints as part of their spirit warfare against the principalities and powers that are coming against them.

f) notice deomai is to be made for “all men.”

16. Entunchano entunchano

Intercession, intercede, literally, “to stand in the gap in prayer for a person, a group of people, or a nation.”

a) this can be done by praying in our own language or by praying in tongues, YET THIS TYPE OF INTERCESSION IS MORE THAN JUST PRAYING IN TONGUES. . (1 Corinthians 14:14)

b) this ability to “stand in the gap for others” can be much more than just our ability to pray with our mental faculties. Entunchano is the Holy Spirit “taking hold together with” our human spirit to pray the perfect prayer.

1 Timothy 2:11I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications (deomai #15), prayers (proseuche #14), intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

c) The above verse the Apostle Paul tells Timothy what believers need to look for to happen when they come together for worship in a public assembly.

d) Entunchano must hold a significant place in the heart of God if Paul tells Timothy the “first of all” procedures of a church service should include this form of intercession. Isn’t it amazing the Church World as a whole has never heard of intercession as a part of a church service.

Romans 8:26

26Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.(in articulate speech)

e) helpeth could be translated, “to take hold together with.” As it normally would take more than one man to pick up a piano and move it, having another man come and take hold together with the one man would make the job much easier to move the piano. Thus, Paul tells the Church of Rome that the Holy Spirit will “take hold together with” us to pray beyond our own prayer abilities into a supernatural realm of where “our prayers have tremendous power available.” (James 5:16)

f) infirmities is not speaking of physical ailments here, but of the limitations of the five physical senses when it comes to knowing what to pray. The koine reads, “the what we should proseuche for.”

g) groanings is speaking of the sounds coming through the one yielded to entuchano. It is not always articulate. They can be sounds of groanings as a woman groans in trevail giving birth to a baby. That is what Paul was referring to in Galatians 5:19 when he told the Church he was “travailing in birth for them until Christ be formed in them.” (Galatians 5:19)

Romans 8:27 27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

h) mind would be better translated to our English word, “plan.” The study of Romans Chapter 8 is a study that every serious Bible Student should consider. The verses in Romans 8:14-16 speak of as sons of God, being able to be, “led by the Spirit of God.” Also, in these verses, Paul speaks of the Holy Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are “sons.” When it comes to sonship, the Koine denotes the maturing believer who is not only skillful in the Word of God, but also in the realm of spiritual things It is the will of God that we as Christians would be able to discern. “what the will of the Lord is” in our lives in any given situation.

20

Ephesians 5:17 (King James Version)

17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

I) It is through entunchano we have the Holy Spirit aiding us in our prayer lives in a powerful weapon against Satan and his forces. Intercession is so much more than just praying in tongues; it is the Holy Spirit participating in our prayer lives through birthing the will of God into the earth.

Romans 11:2 2God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,

Hebrews 7:25 25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

j) How important is entunchano? Jesus prays in this form of prayer for the Church on the earth. He stands as “the High Priest of our confession.” This verse says, Jesus is ever living to make intercession for us.

(For a deeper, more in-depth study on entuchano, go to Pastor Ward’s Ministry Website and click on “Web Store” at: www.thepropheticvoicenewsletter.com and order Prophetic Prayer to Sonship).

17. poimen  poimen

Pastor, shepherd, feed

1 Peter 5:1-4

1The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

3Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.

4And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

1 Peter 5:2 translates this word to be feed as there is no way to separate true pastoring and the ability to feed the flock of God in which the office of Pastor has the divine right and responsibility to care and protect the sheep.

21

a) This ministry office is held by the Head of the Church as Jesus is called the “Chief Shepherd (Poimen) in the epistle of Peter.

1 Peter 2:25 25For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop(episkopas #7) of your souls.

b) poimen means to guide as well as to feed. A true Pastor has the heart to tend to the sheep of his pasture.

Ephesians 4:11

 11And he (Jesus) gave some, apostles (apostolos #22); and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

c) It is Jesus Christ, the Head of the Church, that gave Office of Poimen to the Church to equip them and cause them to grow up spiritually.

John 10:11 - “…I am the good Shepherd

Hebrews 13:20 - “… that great Shepherd of the sheep…”

18. Phronesis phronesis

Prudence, knowledge, understanding

This is a “natural knowledge.”

a) as phronesis is a natural knowledge, epigknosis is a supernatural knowledge

b) Christians ought to be the most well, balanced people on the face of the earth. This word denotes good common sense and stability.

c) Phronesis carries a spirit of being able to work well with others.. Combined with Sophia, or the wisdom of God, this natural knowledge in a believer makes the best employee anyone could ever have. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we can rely on Him to bring a excellence in phronesis to us in our daily lives. Look for witty inventions!

Luke 1:17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just;

22

to make ready a people prepared for the Lord

Ephesians 3:8Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

19. Diakrino diakrino

Doubt, wavereth, staggered

THIS GREEK WORD DENOTES BEING HALF-HEARTED. ONE WAY ONE DAY, AND THE NEXT DAY A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FRAME OF MIND OR MINDSET. ONE

DAY YOU SPEAK THE WORD, NEXT DAY YOU SAY IT’S NOT WORKING. ONE MINUTE YOU KNOW YOU HEARD FROM GOD, NEXT MINUTE YOU AREN’T SURE….

Mark 11:23

23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mathew 21:21

21Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith(pistos), and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Diakrino keeps you out of the God-kind of faith.

Romans 4:20

20He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

Abraham had plenty of reasons why he would stagger. He was an old man and his wife was not only barren but was also way passed child bearing years. The scriptures go on to say that he was fully persuaded. Abraham was fully convinced that what God had said to him about being the Father of many nations, that He would bring it to pass. It is amazing that from Genesis chapter 15 we see that it did take 25 years for what God had said to Abraham to come to pass! How come? God was waiting on Abraham to get the image of

23

being that Father of many nations on the inside of him and to agree with God by speaking

it out of his own mouth! The first time God said that to Abram he laughed! Diakrino will cause you to stagger at the promises of God.

James 1:6

6But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

8A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Diakrino keeps you unstable.

James 2:4

4Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

20. Aiteo  aiteo

Ask, literally “to place a loving demand upon the covenant.”

James 1:5

5If any of you lack wisdom, (Sophia #4) let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally(plusios #23), and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

a) literally, if you lack a broader scope of what’s happening behind the scene, then ask (aiteo), place a loving demand upon the covenant.

b) aiteo is based upon relationship and trust. As a child feels comfortable in his home he partakes of the provision in his household. Blessings from the parents to the child, based upon relationship.

Matthew 7:7

7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek(search the heart diligently), and ye shall find; knock(request entrance into His will), and it shall be opened unto you:

c) the Greek implies here to, “keep on asking, or, keep on placing a demand upon the covenant as in a lifestyle of asking and receiving.”

d) This “asking” is not what seem would think to mean “nagging.” This is to be done in faith, nothing wavering.

e) When we ask of God, it is because we know He is a loving Father and wants to provide for His children.

f) Think of aiteo not a a drudgery but a privilege. Our Heavenly Father gets joy when we come to Him in faith knowing that He wants to bless us far above even what we could ask or think.

24

Ephesians 3:20 (King James Version)

20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

21. Deaconas  deaconas

Deacon, server, servant hood with the anointing

1 Timothy 3:12

12Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

a) Deacons are listed in the Word of God as men of faith, given to prayer, and yet their primary function is to aid in the natural affairs of the local Church.

Romans 12:7 (King James Version)

7Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

b) Here deaconas is used with the Body Gifts of Romans 12. It denotes a server or

servant hood. We are all to have a heart to serve as believers, but, there are those who truly have a special grace to serve others. From the time a person is conceived in the womb, God has certain gifts and abilities he puts within their spirit to be a blessing to others through life. These “gifts” are listed in the twelfth chapter of Romans. In the above verse, we see the King James translate deaconas as, “ministry.”

Acts 6:2(King James Version)

2Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word (logos #5) of God, and serve tables.

3Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom (Sophia #4) , whom we may appoint over this business.

c) As in the Church of Antioch, there were several thousand members attending that Church. The Apostles were spending to much time on the natural affairs of the ministry. It was time that, as the Spirit of God directed, seven men with certain qualifications would come forth and help the Apostles with the daily ministration, or natural affairs of running the church.

d) As elders (prebuteros #6) would tend to the spiritual affairs of the Church of Antioch,

25

the deacons/ deaconas would tend to the natural affairs.

e)Every local church needs the office of a deacon. The deacon in the 21st Century is the same deacon in the book of Acts. The deacon can flow in a supernatural anointing to serve in his Church with such joy and fulfillment in his ability to work behind the scenes helping the natural affairs of the church to run smoothly. Someone needs to set up the chairs. Someone needs to vacuum the floor and clean the restrooms. True deacons have a heart to serve their Pastor and their local church in whatever capacity they are needed.

f) Somehow in the last hundred years, we thought the deacon was to get on a Board and make sure he drives his Pastor crazy by challenging him with his “vote.” Some of you might be in a church that has one of those “deacon boards from hell.”

g)Go back and read Acts Chapter 6 to find out what a deaconas is suppose to be! Remember, anything that has more than one head is a freak! The Pastor is to surround himself with men of honor and integrity. Acts 6 says the men are to be “full of the Holy Ghost.” That is a requirement. The deacon is not just breathing and can fill a spot on the Board. He has qualifications stipulated in the Word of God.

h) thank God for the men and women out there who are called to be deacons and take joy in serving their Church!

22. Apostolos apostolos

Apostle

The Apostle has the ability to work the ministry as a seasoned minister. He can do the work of an Evangelist, he can teach the word of God, pioneer churches, or at time speak prophetically.

a) in the koine, apostolos is literally a naval admiral or commander. He is sent from place to place on assignments.

26

b) there are men who are apostles over nations, regions, and those who are appointed over cities. In respect to the call, this is not to say they are over every church in a given city, but have an assignment to raise up a local church in a given area. In turn, they are to oversee the churches they personally planted.

c) there are different types of apostles. Jesus was in a class of an Apostle all by Himself. Then we know there were the 12 Apostles of the Lamb. Also, consider Apostles that are

known that have an international influence, and then those who are known only in

certain regions of a Country.

d) all have one thing in common; they are “sent ones”

Ephesians 3:5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

Ephesians 1 :1

1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

Galatians 1:1 1Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

e) Paul lets the Church of Galatia know his calling was “not of men, but of God.” That is a good thing to know because if you look at some denominations you would think they called the Minister, themselves.

f) Actually, Paul’s calling came from Jesus Christ and not some group of men or denomiation.

.

Ephesians 4:11

11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors(poimen) and teachers;

g) apostolos is the most seasoned and is the most seasoned of the five-fold ministry listed in Ephesians 4:11, and still is today.

1 Corinthians 12:28 (King James Version)

28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

 h) Actually, the above verse has the five fold ministry listed. Look at it closely. We have the Apostolos, then Paul speaks of the Prophet and the Teacher. Then Paul does something amazing. He speaks of the endowments or gifts that follow the ministry gift. Miracles and healings describe the true evangelist. Helps, governments, and diversity of tongues describe the endowments that follow the Pastor’s ministry.

23. Plusios plusios

Rich, riches, the inexhaustible provision that comes from our Heavenly Father.

Colossians 3:16

16Let the word (logos#5) of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom Sophia#4); teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

a) as you study plusios, get the picture of a loving God wanting to pour you out a blessing that you don’t have room enough to contain!

b) What a prayer Paul is praying over the Church of Philippi!

* Plusios in knowing the Word of God!

* Plusios in having a broader scope of what is happening behind the scenes!

* Plusios in the ability to teach a word in season to others!

* Plusios in your ability to encourage others not to quit! To stay the course!

* Plusios in singing psalms, which is songs to God. Hymns, which is songs about the goodness of God. Being rich and full with melodies in our hearts to the Lord.

Ephesians 3:8

8Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

a) the rich man - (Matthew 19:23-24, Mark 10:25)

b) the rich - (James 2:6, James 5:1)

1 Timothy 6:17

17Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

c) Plusios is so much more than just natural wealth and riches.

28

d) Plusios is because of the blessings of Abraham. The immeasurable wealth and resourses that God has for His children. In the Old Testament, Our Heavenly Father was known as “El Shaddai,” or, the God who is more than enough! Plusios is full of the promises of God are for the people who love God. There are 7,000 precious promises in the Word of God! 7959 promises in the New Testament alone! Read this next verse with a great anticipation:

2 Peter 1:10-12 (Amplified Bible)

10Because of this, brethren, be all the more solicitous and eager to make sure (to ratify, to strengthen, to make steadfast) your calling and election; for if you do this, you will never stumble or fall.

11Thus there will be richly and abundantly provided for you entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

12So I intend always to remind you about these things, although indeed you know them and are firm in the truth that [you] now [hold].

e) Plusios is to reach every part of the human life, yet this plusios is conditional. If you reach the conditions of plusios, you can have plusios!

Psalm 119:2 (Amplified Bible)

2Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are they who keep His testimonies, and who seek, inquire for and of Him and crave Him with the whole heart.

Philippians 4:19 (King James Version)

19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Titus 3:5-6 (King James Version)

 5Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

 6Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________24. Pistos pistos

Faith, or, The predestined elevated highway. It is the plan that God has for every man from the foundations of the world. Amazingly, the Greek brings out an elevated highway that has ditches on either side that one could fall into. Though I

29

believe the ditches represent legalism on one side, and, extremism on the other, it is possible to stay out of

the ditches and walk in the middle of the elevated highway. This is accomplished by hearing and hearing the Word of God constantly. The more pistos is heard, the more the will of God is known concerning the plan He has for our lives.

The Psalmist David had this in his heart when he wrote:

Psalm 119:130

130The entrance of thy words giveth light; (divine information or divine

illumination) it giveth understanding unto the simple.

Romans 10:17

17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

a) the greek denotes a “hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing…”

b) The faith that comes from hearing the Word of God taught and preached in its fullness brings revelation to the believer concerning the plan that God has for their lives.

Romans 12:3

3For I say, through the grace (office) given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the ( a ) measure of faith.

c) once we are born again we are able to begin to build on the “measure of faith” and cause the plan of God to become clearer and clearer to us.

d) notice this is written not to every human, but, “to every man that is among you,” meaning, those who were in the Church of Rome that was hearing the Word of God preached.

e) the more pistos we receive, the more we are able to discern God’s plan for our lives.

f) Pistos is, “ the act of personal surrender to Him.” (W.E. Vines)

I encourage you to read Romans 12:3 again slowly and notice who the Apostle Paul is writing to. He was writing to Christians! They need to renew their minds even though they are already born again.

Romans 3:25

25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

25. Pistis  pistis

Faith, faithfulness literally, the actual “walk of faith.” As we go through our lives, we hear the word of God preached and faith (pistos #24) comes. This is the action of pistos literally meaning walking out what we have heard in our daily lives.

Corinthians 5:7

7(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

a) the actual walking of that predestined elevated highway.

b) ”sight” referring to our five physical senses. Walking out the plan of God for our lives, as opposed to living our lives by what our senses dictate to us.

c) Pistis is the “title deed” of things hoped for.

Hebrews 11:1 (New International Version)

1Now faith is being sure of what we hope (tharreo #49) for and certain of what we do not see.

Hebrews 11:1 (The Message)

1-2The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It's our handle on what we can't see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.

Hebrews 11:1 (Amplified Bible)

1NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, [a]the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

Romans 10:17 (Amplified Bible)

17So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).

31

Romans 12:3 (Amplified Bible)

3For by the grace (unmerited favor of God) given to me I warn everyone among you not to estimate and think of himself more highly than he ought [not to have an exaggerated opinion of his own importance], but to rate his ability with sober judgment, each according to the degree of faith apportioned by God to him.

d) Pistis is the proof or the raw material of things hoped for, of things we don’t see with our natural eye.

e) This type of faith requires action.

James 2:17 (Amplified Bible)

17So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

f) Pistis without corresponding actions is dead.

26. Exousia  exousia

Authority , the ability to make power to be felt, liberty, delegated authority by the Head of the Church.

a) Through Christ, the unalienable right that affirms free movement to the ability needed at the time.

Matthew 28:18

18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Mark 3:14-15 14And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15And to have power to heal(sozo #9) sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

a) Jesus gave His disciples authority(exousia) over sickness and disease and to cast out devils by using His name.

b) the origin of sickness and disease is from the devil;

Acts 10:38

38How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power(dunamis #12): who went about doing good, and healing (sozo #9))all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

32

Ephesians 1:21 21Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion (kratos), and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Luke 10:19

19Behold, I give unto you power (exousia) to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power (dunamis #12) of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

c) Jesus gave His disciples authority over the ability of the devil.

d) serpents are considered to be “low-level” devils

e) scorpions are considered to be “high-level” devils

f) exousia translates to our English word authority; speaking of the authority Jesus gave us as believers so that Satan’s strategies do not have to prosper against us.

2 Timothy 1:7

7For God hath not given us the spirit(pneuma #31) of fear(phobia #51); but of power, and of love(agape #35), and of a sound mind.

g) The Apostle Paul speaks to Timothy about a “spirit of authority“: that he should walk in instead of a spirit of fear/phobia.

h) The above verse speaks of love, which is from the greek word, “love,” that refers to the “God kind of love.” This is the love spoken of in 1 Corinthians 13. A love that never fails. (see agape #35)

Colossians 1:13 (Amplified Bible)

13[The Father] has delivered and [a]drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son [b]of His love,

i) “control and dominion” translated from the word exousia

John 1:12 (Amplified Bible)

12But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name--(A)

John 1:12

27. Epigknosis epigknosis

Knowledge, a supernatural knowledge that comes from Heaven.

a) how heaven thinks about things

b) a revelation knowledge that does not come from (phronesis #18 )or what are five physical

senses would tell us.

c) a full knowledge, how heaven thinks about things in full expression

The Bible is Revelation Knowledge, epigknosis, and is inexhaustible as it unfolds the Covenants between God and man.

Only the Bible can divide a man’s thoughts and his true intentions of the heart. It is only God’s Word that can feed a human spirit what it needs.

The Word becomes profitable. There is no gold, silver, or precious stones compared to the written Word. There is only one true interpretation of the

Bible and it is through the Holy Spirit illuminating the reader. The reader must be enlightened by the Holy Spirit to enable true study.

It is God’s will to reveal His Word to man. It is Satan’s desire to choke the Word. Satan constantly works to twist the Scriptures and get Man something

outside of true Revelation Knowledge. As man receives the Word with

gladness, Jesus tells us in the above Scripture that only one out of four people who hear the Word will ever actually bear fruit that remains.

If Satan can get the believer distracted from the importance of the Word, then he has accomplished stealing the Blessing that comes from being governed by the Word.

Satan does not mind the believer getting “religious” by counting his sins and trying to live morally. The Devil just wants to keep the believer out of Revelation Knowledge.

Epigknosis is Revelation Knowledge. It is the ability to understand Scripture under Divine Interpretation that comes from the Holy Spirit.

(for more information on Revelation Knowledge and epigknosis, read Pastor Ward’s book on, The Importance of the Word , available for purchase online at www.ncmitraining.com )

Ephesians 1:17 17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.

34

Ephesians 4:13

13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ:

2 Timothy 2:25

25In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Matthew 16:17-18

17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

d) Jesus told Simon Peter that the statement he said declaring Jesus was the Son of God did not come to him through his “flesh and blood,” but from His Father in Heaven. What Simon Peter had spoke out was more than what others had said about Jesus through speculation and reasoning. This was very exciting to Jesus as Peter spoke from a knowledge that did not come from what others were saying, or from his own reasoning, thus, what Peter had said was very significant and how he heard it was supernatural.

28. Paidea/paideo  paidea

Chasten, chastening, scourge

Paidea is found in Hebrews Chapter 12 several times translated to the English words chaseneth and scourgeth. There are a lot of religious ideas concerning these verses. I have heard many Preachers declare that God chastens His Children by:

- breaking someone’s leg in a car wreck

- having a home destroyed in a tornado

- being infected by a terminal disease

If we look at the character of God, we can see that He is wanting to protect His Children and bless them instead of inflicting them with pain and suffering.

35

Hebrews 12:6

6For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

7If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?

Paidea is used here in Hebrews Chapter 12 in the King James version

2 Corinthians 6:9

Amplified Bible (AMP)

Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation

9[We are treated] as unknown and ignored [by the world], and [yet we are] well-known and recognized [by God and His people]; as dying, and yet here we are alive; as chastened by suffering and [yet] not killed;

How does God chasten His Children?

Hebrews 12: 9-11

9Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

10For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

11Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous:

nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised

We need to think of paidea , or chastening, as the way our earthly fathers “spanked our bottoms,” our Heavenly Father “spanks our spirits.” Paul goes on to say that our earthly Fathers disciplined us for our good, so that it would produce a good character in us. I remember Dad would say, “this hurts me to spank you more than it does you!” I never understood that when I was a child. It seemed pretty grievous at the time!

We know that we are “sons of the most High” because our Heavenly Father does paidea us. Paul said it would produce in us the “peaceable fruits of righteousness.” As a believer there is nothing like the conviction of the Holy Sprit that comes up within you after you know you said something wrong. The conviction of the Holy Spirit is how God chastens us as His Children.

Paidea is used:

a) as in training children - Acts 7:22

b) as in family discipline - 1 Corinthians 11:32, 2 Corinthians 6:9, Revelations 3:19

c) to be taught (passive tense) 1 Timothy 1:20

d) In Luke 23:16, W.E. Vine’s brings out that Pontius Pilate had declared the Lord

36

Jesus as innocent, but, as a concession to the Jews they could chastise (paideuo) the Lord and

let Him go.

e) it also means to lash or to scourge (Hebrews 12:6, Proverbs 3:12)

f) To truly understand paidea, we must have a working knowledge of the character of God. When we look at the scriptures about the character of God, we think of Malachi 3:6 and Hebrews 13:8.

Malachi 3:6 (King James Version)

6For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Hebrews 13:8 (King James Version)

8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

g) The same Jesus that walked the shores of Galilee, is the same Jesus that heals today. There is a time for God’s wrath. There is a time when God is angry. We need to know that God is a loving God. Paidea is for His Children to correct them in their recreated human spirits. Look at these verses:

Proverbs 10:22 (King James Version)

22The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

Psalm 107:20 (King James Version)

20He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Isaiah 53:5 (King James Version)

5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Matthew 4:24 (King James Version)

24And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Matthew 12:15 (King James Version)

 15But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;

h)There are so many scriptures that show us that it is God’s will that people be healthy and whole. In Isaiah it says Jesus took our sin and our sickness and diseases in order that we could be healed.

37

So how does God paidea His Children? Through the Holy Spirit within our spirit.

i) Paidea is chastening; but it is the conviction of the Holy Spirit within the believer, not the suffering from car wrecks, cancer, or tornadoes.

Scriptures on God’s Character

Exodus 34:6 (King James Version)

6And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

Psalm 52:1 (King James Version)

1Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

Romans 2:4 (King James Version)

4Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

Romans 11:22 (New Living Translation)

22 Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe toward those who disobeyed, but kind to you if you continue to trust in his kindness. But if you stop trusting, you also will be cut off.

2 Thessalonians 1:11 (Amplified Bible)

11With this in view we constantly pray for you, that our God may deem and count you worthy of [your] calling and [His] every gracious purpose of goodness, and with power may complete in [your] every particular work of faith (faith which is that leaning of the whole human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness).

29. kosmos kosmos

World, literally, “the world system.”

a) not to be confused with world as the planet earth. This is specifically speaking of the world’s system of human affairs and not the planet.

2 Corinthians 4:4

4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

b) Satan is called the god of this world system

John 7:7

7The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

John 7:7 (Amplified Bible)

7The world cannot [be expected to] hate you, but it does hate Me because I denounce it for its wicked works and reveal that its doings are evil.

Galatians 4:3

Galatians 6:14

c) the sum of temporal possessions - (Matthew 16:26)

Psalm 24:1 (New International Version)

1 The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it,

       the world, and all who live in it;

d) the earth does not belong to Satan. The planet belongs to God. Adam had a “lease” for having to care for the planet. Scholars believe the lease is about to run out. (6,000 years)

e) As Christians, our authority (exousia) was delegated to us by the Head of the Church, Jesus Christ. Jesus “bought back” the dominion that Adam had before the Fall. As for Kosmos, the world system is still under the control of Satan. That is why Jesus told His disciples that they are in the world (cosmos) but not of the world. (kosmos)

John 14:30 (King James Version)

30Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

John 8:23 (King James Version)

23And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

1 Corinthians 2:12 (King James Version)

12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

30. Koinonia koinonia

To be in partnership, divinely connected, an alliance of resources and strength, to be in fellowship, concord, distribution, agreement.

Acts 2:42

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' (apostolos #22) doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers (proseuche #14).

* There are teachings that come from the offices of the Apostle and Prophet. We need all the Ministry Gifts to grow up spiritually and the koinonia that comes by the Spirit of God.

*Breaking of Bread actually refers to the Lord’s Supper.

2 Corinthians 6:14

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

* That is why as a Christian one should not marry an unbeliever, or, someone who is not hungry for the things of God.

2 Corinthians 8:4

Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.

* Koinonia, translated fellowship here, is between the saints. This connection produces a kindred spirit. A bond that is Godly and powerful.

Ephesians 5:11

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

* The believer is not to be in koinonia with those in darkness. That is why as a Christian one should not marry an unbeliever, or, someone who is not hungry for the things of God.

40

1 John 1:3

That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with

his Son Jesus Christ.

1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that

believeth with an infidel?

Acts 4:35

And laid them down at the apostles' (apostolos)feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

2 Corinthians 9:13

Whiles by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;

Galatians 2:2

And I went up by revelation, (epigknosis) and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.

Philippians 4:15

Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

a) Koinonia is a powerful tool for the believer. All through the Christian’s life, the Lord has people for us to be mentored by. There are those we are to help and encourage.

b) Koinonia can be between two Christians as their faith and strength is shared.

41

Philemon 1:6 (King James Version)

6That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

c) effectual, meaning, “the power to produce the desired end result.”

d) Koinonia is a partnership between a believer and those who are called to the five-fold ministry. Paul was telling the people at Phillipi that their koinonia with him in aiding him financially so that he was able to keep on preaching the Gospel was a powerful worship unto God. Read the rest of these verses:

Philippians 4:15-19 (Amplified Bible)

15And you Philippians yourselves well know that in the early days of the Gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church (assembly) entered into partnership with me and opened up [a debit and credit] account in giving and receiving except you only.

16For even in Thessalonica you sent [me contributions] for my needs, not only once but a second time.

17Not that I seek or am eager for [your] gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit which increases to your credit [the harvest of blessing that is accumulating to your account].

18But I have [your full payment] and more; I have everything I need and am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent me. [They are the] fragrant odor of an offering and sacrifice which God welcomes and in which He delights.

19And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

31. Pneuma pneuma

spirit, as in the human spirit, attitude, character, the aura or personality of a human being or entity.

a) denotes “wind.”

b) part of what makes up the inner man, yet this Greek word is always used in the case of the believer. Romans 7:22, 2 Corinthians 4:16, Ephesians 3:16

c) refers to the new life in Christ - Romans 8:4-6,10,16, Hebrews 12:9, Psalm 51:10

d) to blow as in the wind blowing - Acts 27:40

Hebrews 4:12

12For the word (logos #5) of God is quick (alive), and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword (machira # 41), piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.(kardia#50)

2 Timothy 1:7

7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear(phobia#51); but of power (exousia#26), and of love(agape#35), and of a sound mind.

e) Paul tells Timothy the God has not given us a pneuma (attitude, aura) of fear ( phobia),but a pneuma of power (authority, exousia), love (agape), and a sound mind.

John 6:63

63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

f) the word of God is so powerful Jesus said His words were “spirit-life.) pnuema-zoe

John 4:23

23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

g) Jesus tells His disciples the importance of our attitude being right when we move int

o true worship.

Ephesians 4:23

23And be renewed in the spirit (attitude)of your mind;

h) Pneuma can be something that you sense on a person from within your spirit. It is a God given perception of people. Since a person’s pneuma is connected to their demeanor, emotions, and personality, it is possible to “sense” a pneuma of:

1. Gratitude - light

2. Thanksgiving - light

3. Pride - darkness

4. Lust - darkness

5. Anger - darkness

6. Love - light

7. Wisdom - light

43

8. Authority - light

9. Deceit - darkness

10. Religous - darkness

11. Fear - darkness

12. Worship - light

13. Meekness - light

14. Reverence - light

15. Rebellion - darkness

I) The contrast between a God like pneuma and a devilish pneuma is as real as the contrast between light and darkness.

j) How wonderful it is to know that for the Christian who is filled with the Holy Spirit, he can yield himself to the Gift of discerning of spirits and have a supernatural awareness of people’s motives and the spirits that would drive them, hence, the Discerning of spirits.

32. Parakletos parakletos

The Holt Spirit , Comforter, our Standby, one who is called along side

Our Intercessor: ,Advocate, Strengthener, Counselor, Helper, also known as the Spirit of Truth

John 14:16-17 (Amplified Bible)

16And I will ask (aiteo#20) the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever--

17The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.

John 15:26

26But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

Ephesians 3:5 (Amplified Bible)

5[This mystery] was never disclosed to human beings in past generations as it has

44

now been revealed to His holy apostles (consecrated messengers) and prophets by the [Holy] Spirit.

a) The Holy Spirit is the most wonderful third person of the Holy Trinity. He is available to help us, to guide us, and even to help us pray by the recreated human spirit within us. (Romans 8:26)

b) He opens the Word of God to us and brings revelation knowledge that comes from heaven. We must see Him as a real person and not as an object.

Ephesians 4:30 (Amplified Bible)

30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God's own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin).

c) He warns us of danger.

d) It is possible to grieve the Holy Spirit.

e) It is through the working of the Holy Spirit that the nine Gifts listed in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 flow.

f) It is through Parakletos that one is filled with an experience subsequent to salvation, known as the baptism of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4)

g) Parakletos empowers the believer for service. We can be continually filled with the Holy Spirit.

Look at this next verse:

Ephesians 5:17-18 (Amplified Bible)

17Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is.

18And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit..

33. Hamartia hamartia

Sin, as sin is described as missing the mark, it is good to know that God does not categorize sin. He does not rank hamartia as in some order of importance.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (King James Version)

21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

* The above verse says that Father made Jesus to be harmartia , who knew no harmartia, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

* The Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that Jesus became hamartia for us on the cross for the sins of the whole world. In turn, once a person receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, the curse and power of harmartia is broken!

* Mankind was totally alienated from God. The harmartia of Adam affected the whole human race. He and his wife committed high treason against a loving God. God loved mankind so much He knew there was only one way to bring His man back to fellowship(koinonia#30). God had to send His Son into the world to become the substitution for their hamartia, of “missing the mark.” God loved Man with all of His heart. It broke His heart that Man would have been deceived by the serpent. Think about it, the serpent told Adam and Eve if they would just eat of the forbidden fruit, “they would be just like the Most High.” They were already just like the Most High. They were made in His image, after His likeness. (Genesis 1:27)

*I am so glad The Heavenly Father did not leave us in that state of darkness!

In this light, read this next verse:

Romans 5:12

12Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

* A man committed high treason. It would be a Man that would have to buy it back.

Romans 5:12-15 (The Message)

The Death-Dealing Sin, the Life-Giving Gift

12-14You know the story of how Adam landed us in the dilemma we're in— first sin, then death, and no one exempt from either sin or death. That sin disturbed relations with God in everything and everyone, but the extent of the disturbance was not clear until God spelled it out in detail to Moses. So death, this huge abyss separating us from God, dominated the landscape from Adam to Moses. Even those who didn't sin precisely as Adam did by disobeying a specific command of God still had to experience this termination of life, this separation from God. But Adam, who got us into this, also points ahead to the One who will get us out of it.

15-17Yet the rescuing gift is not exactly parallel to the death-dealing sin. If one man's sin put crowds of people at the dead-end abyss of separation from God, just

46

think what God's gift poured through one man, Jesus Christ, will do! There's no comparison between that death-dealing sin and this generous, life-giving gift. The verdict on that one sin was the death sentence; the verdict on the many sins that followed was this wonderful life sentence. If death got the upper hand through one man's wrongdoing, can you imagine the breathtaking recovery life makes, sovereign life, in those who grasp with both hands this wildly extravagant life-gift, this grand setting-everything-right, that the one man Jesus Christ provides?

* This is an incredible translation. Read that again. “this wildly extravagant life-gift, this grand setting-everything-right, that the one man Jesus Christ provides…”

* Righteousness is being able to stand in the presence of God without any condemnation, guilt, or inferiority. By the shedding of Jesus’ blood, everything was set right in the courts of Heaven. Man’s royally missing the mark, his hamartia had been dealt with. Jesus Christ paid for the sin of the whole world, the sin that separated him from a holy God. This is the Good News! This is what we celebrate in the Lord’s Supper.

*Righteousness means we now have the ability to stand before God without feeling condemned. By the blood of Jesus, we can be in right standing with Him when we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior.

Note: If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can right now break the curses of Adam’s hamartia, and, your missing the mark. If you don’t know what to pray, go to the back of this book and pray the prayer and mean it from your heart. Then, email us and let us know you did! ncmidave@yahoo.com

Look at this next verse again:

2 Corinthians 5:21 (King James Version)

21For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

* Father made Jesus hamartia for us, who knew no hamartia, that we could be in right standing with God.

Romans 6:1 (The Message)

When Death Becomes Life

1-3So what do we do? Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving? I should hope not! If we've left the country where sin is sovereign, how can we still live in our old house there? Or didn't you realize we packed up and left there for good? That is what happened in baptism. When we went under the water, we left the old country of sin behind; when we came up out of the water, we entered into the new country of grace—a new life in a new land!

* The force of righteousness is more powerful than the curse of sin.

47

Romans 14:23 23And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

a) envy is as much of a sin as adultery is.

b) jealousy is as much of a sin as murder is.

c) God views the sin of an inward thought just as evil as someone committing murder.

d) Religious people love to make lists of what sins are worse than others. God calls all evil, “sin, hamartia.”

e) All outward sins start with just a thought. If we can learn to “hand-cuff” those thoughts then we can stop the sin, itself.

2 Corinthians 10:5 (Amplified Bible)

5[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

f) Paul said to the Church of Galatia that it is those who “practice sin” are the ones who will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Ephesians 4:18

18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

a) man who was alienated from this kind of life because of sin.

b) because man missed the mark and committed high treason he forfeited the benefits of zoe.

c) hamartia denotes disobedience, error, fault, iniquity, transgression, and ungodliness

Hebrews 9:26

Hebrews 10:6,8

34.  Bema  bema

Judgment seat of Christ, judgment, rewards

This word was used in regards to the Olympic games and referred to the honors, rewards, and gifts bestowed upon the athletes that win the gold. The Greeks were very proud of their Olympiad who competed in the games and would reward them greatly for their excellence in their fields. After winning their event, the Olympic athlete would stand before their King as he sat on his “bema,” which was a high, elevated kind of throne.

a) Military generals and the gold athletes would stand before the “bema“ to receive a crown from the king for their achievement. Those who were not the heroes were not judged at the “bema.” The athlete had to come in first place. The whole purpose was to reward those who had won in battle or in a race.

b) Bema also included a seat at the Olympic Games for the athlete and his

immediate family for the rest of the athlete’s life. We get the same type of

treatment as we are seated with Him.

. Our actions that advanced the Kingdom of God on the earth. Our heavenly Father records all those things we have said and have done, and will do.

d) As for eternal punishment as for those who did not know Christ, that sort of punishment has been done away with for the Christian. The Bible clearly states those in Christ Jesus have broken through by His blood to eternal life! (Romans 8:1) Jesus took our condemnation to the cross with Him and He who knew no sin, became sin for us. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

2 Corinthians 5:10

10For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

2 Corinthians 5:10 (The Message)

9-10But neither exile nor homecoming is the main thing. Cheerfully pleasing God is the main thing, and that's what we aim to do, regardless of our conditions. Sooner or later we'll all have to face God, regardless of our conditions. We will appear before Christ and take what's coming to us as a result of our actions, either good or bad.

1 Corinthians 3:13 (King James Version)

13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

BEMA -VS- WOOD, HAY, AND STUBBLE

1 Corinthians 3:8-15

8Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

9For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

49

10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

1 Corinthians 3:8-15 (Amplified Bible)

8He who plants and he who waters are equal (one in aim, of the same importance and esteem), yet each shall receive his own reward (wages), according to his own labor.

* YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN REWARDS!

* YOUR REWARDS ARE DETERMINED BY YOUR LABOR.

* YOUR LABOR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU GETTING TO HEAVEN!

* ACCORDING TO YOUR LABORS WILL YOU RECEIVE REWARDS.

* AS I CLIMB TO THE SUMMIT, THE THINGS I DO IN THIS LIFE FOR THE ADVANCING OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD WILL PRODUCE MORE REWARDS IN HEAVEN.

* IF I STAY IN THE VALLEY BELOW WHERE MOST PEOPLE HANG OUT, I WILL NOT BE IN THE PLACE OF FELLOWSHIP I NEED TO BE SO I CAN HEAR FROM GOD. FAITH WON’T WORK WHEN WE ARE OUT OF FELLOWSHIP WITH THE LORD.

9For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God; you are God's [a]garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, [you are] God's building.

* THE AWESOME PART ABOUT THIS VERSE IS PAUL SAYS THAT JESUS IS “THE FOUNDATION THAT WAS LAID” IN OUR LIVES WHEN WE RECEIVED HIM AS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. I AM READY TO CLIMB TO THE SUMMIT ONLY AFTER I HAVE JESUS CHRIST AS LORD OF MY LIFE. ONCE THAT FOUNDATION IS THERE, IT IS UP TO ME TO BUILD UPON IT.

* WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WHAT IS IT THAT YOU ARE DOING THAT HAS ETERNAL VALUE? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE THAT WILL WITHSTAND THE FIRE OF GOD IN THAT DAY? THE LORD IS GOING TO JUDGE OUR WORKS…

50

10According to the grace (the special endowment for my task) of God bestowed on me,

Today's New International Version (TNIV)

like a skillful architect and master builder I laid [the] foundation, and now another [man] is building upon it. But let each [man] be careful how he builds upon it,

11For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is [already] laid, which is Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

12But if anyone builds upon the Foundation, whether it be with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw,

* HOW DO WE KNOW IF WHERE WE ARE SPEND IN OUR TIME, MONEY AND EFFORT ON GOLD, SILVER, OR PRECIOUS STONES?

13The work of each [one] will become [plainly, openly] known (shown for what it is); for the day [of Christ] will disclose and declare it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test and critically appraise the character and worth of the work each person has done.

14If the work which any person has built on this Foundation [any product of his efforts whatever] survives [this test], he will get his reward.

15But if any person's work is burned up [under the test], he will suffer the loss [of it all, losing his reward], though he himself will be saved, but only as [one who has passed] through fire.(B

1 Corinthians 3:13 (King James Version)

13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

THE DAY REPRESENTS THE JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST. THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT (WHICH IS WHERE THOSE WHO DON’T KNOW JESUS AS LORD WILL BE JUDGED) BUT THIS IS FOR THE CHRISTIANS THAT WILL STAND BEFORE THE FATHER AND GIVE ACCOUNT FOR ALL THEIR WORKS (LABORS) WHILE THEYWERE ON THE EARTH. IN OTHER WORDS, WE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR WHAT GOD GAVE US, EVEN OUR TALENTS, AND WHAT WE PRODUCED THAT HAD ETERNAL VALUE. WHETHER YOU STAY IN THE VALLEY BECAUSE YOU DON’T WANT TO CLIMB THE SUMMIT, OT YOU MAKE THE CLIMB TO THE TOP, YOU WILL GIVE ACCOUNT TO GOD FOR WHAT YOU DID IN HYOUR LIFE.

2 Corinthians 5:10 (Today's New International Version)

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that everyone may

51

receive what is due them for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

1 Corinthians 15:42 (Amplified Bible)

41The sun is glorious in one way, the moon is glorious in another way, and the stars are

glorious in their own [distinctive] way; for one star differs from and surpasses another in its beauty and brilliance.

42So it is with the resurrection of the dead. [The body] that is sown is perishable and decays, but [the body] that is resurrected is imperishable (immune to decay, immortal).(A)

1 Corinthians 15:42 (Contemporary English Version)

39People, animals, birds, and fish are each made of flesh, but none of them are alike.

40Everything in the heavens has a body, and so does everything on earth. But each one is very different from all the others.

41The sun isn't like the moon, the moon isn't like the stars, and each star is different.

42That's how it will be when our bodies are raised to life. These bodies will die, but the bodies that are raised will live forever.

43These ugly and weak bodies will become beautiful and strong.

THE BIBLE SAY THAT WHEN WE GET TO HEAVEN, HOW WE SHINE IN THE HEAVENS WILL BE DETERMINED ON WHAT WE DID WITH THE WORD OF GOD IN OUR LIVES…. THOSE THINGS THAT WE ACCOMPLISHED THAT HAD ETERNAL PURPOSE, THOSE THINGS THAT WE HELPED OTHER MINISTRIES ACCOMPLISH THROUGH OUR FAITH, MONEY, AND OUR TIME WILL BE ADDED TO OUR SPIRITUAL ACCOUNT! HOW WONDERFUL! HOW MARVELOUS! HOW WE BUILT OUR LIFE TOWARD MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH, OR EVEN TO HOW WE SUPPORTED THE VISION OF OUR PASTOR WHERE WE LIVE WILL BE RECORDED FOR ALL ETERNITY!

I REFUSE TO GO TO HEAVEN FOREVER WITH A MEASLEY LITTLE LIGHT THAT BARELY TWINKLES IN THE SKY! I WANT TO GO TO HEAVEN AND BE A SUPERNOVA FOR THE LORD! I WANT MY LIGHT TO SHINE BRIGHT! MY CLIMBING THE SUMMIT IS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN ETERNITY! I WILL DO ANYTHING FOR THE LORD… I WILL BE OBEDIENT TO DO WHATEVER HE ASKED ME TO DO…

Objections against it answered.

1. How are the dead raised up? that is, by what means? How can they be raised? 2. As to the bodies which shall rise. Will it be with the like shape, and form, and stature, and members, and qualities? The former objection is that of those who opposed the doctrine, the latter of curious doubters. To the first the answer is, This was to be brought about by

52

Divine power; that power which all may see does somewhat like it, year after year, in the death and revival of the corn. It is

foolish to question the Almighty power of God to raise the dead, when we see it every day quickening and reviving things that are dead. To the second inquiry; The grain undergoes a great change; and so will the dead, when they rise and live again. The seed dies, though a part of it springs into new life, though how it is we cannot fully understand. The works of creation and providence daily teach us to be humble, as well as to admire the Creator's wisdom and goodness. There is a great variety

among other bodies, as there is among plants. There is a variety of glory among heavenly bodies. The bodies of the dead, when they rise, will be fitted for the heavenly bodies. The bodies of the dead, when they rise, will be fitted for the heavenly state; and there will be a variety of glories among them. Burying the dead, is like committing seed to the earth, that it may spring out of it again. Nothing is more loathsome than a dead body. But believers shall at the resurrection have bodies,

made fit to be for ever united with spirits made perfect. To God all things are possible. He is the Author and Source of spiritual life and holiness, unto all his people, by the supply of his Holy Spirit to the soul; and he will also quicken and change the body by his Spirit. The dead in Christ shall not only rise, but shall rise thus gloriously changed. The bodies of the saints, when they rise again, will be changed. They will be then glorious and spiritual bodies, fitted to the heavenly world

and state, where they are ever afterwards to dwell

35. Agape/agapeo agape

A Divine Love, a “selfless” love that God displayed toward us by sending His Son, Jesus Christ so save us from the curse of sin that was on all mankind. It is the ability to see others the way God sees us, as “valuable and precious!”

John 3:16 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

a) God saw the world as “valuable and precious.”

Ephesians 1:6 6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

b) while we were yet sinners, our Heavenly Father saw us valuable and precious. So much so, He had a plan to buy us back from Satan’s authority over man.

2 Timothy 1:7

7For God hath not given us the spirit(pnuema#31) of fear(phobia#51); but of power(exousia#26), and of love, and of a sound mind.

Colossians 3:19 19Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

c) husbands are told to agape their wives. Wives are told to ( phileo#36 )their husbands.

John 13:34

Ephesians 2:4

Ephesians 5:2

1 John 2:11

36. Phileo  phileo

Friend, literally as a friend who is dear to you.

John 12:25 25He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

James 4:4 4Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

a) Pastor James is telling his congregation not to phileo the world (kosmos)system. Why? Satan is the god of this world system. (2 Corinthians 4:4) If we befriend the world we can become like the world.

b) In the Scriptures, wives are told to phileo their husbands. Husbands are told to agape their wives. Wives are to be a friend to their husbands; Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the Church. (Ephesians 5:23)

c) Actually, the koine has four words to describe our one English world love. Agape, being the highest form of love, or, the God kind of love. Then, phileo, which is friendship. Thirdly, storge, which is affection shown. Lastly, eros, which is the love between a husband and wife; sexual love.

37. huperetes huperetes

The under-rower, minister, attendant, or, the one who does the rowing.

The under-rower was one of the men placed in the bottom level of a large ship to be subordinate to a Master.

Acts 13:15

15And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them, saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

Acts 26:16

16But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;’

a) from a servant’s heart, huperetes speaks of those men and women who serve in subordinate positions to aid someone else in “getting to the other side” as in a large ship or boat.

b) Those who play a vital role in the Ministry of Helps (1 Corinthians 12:28)

55

c) Men and women of faith that understand their God-called destiny to help a Ministry Gift (Ephesians 4:11) achieve their goals and callings.

d) These are the wonderful men and women of God who know their calling is to be behind great leaders. Like a number two man serving a number one man, and, they are okay with being behind the scenes and not in the place of notoriety. They are armor-bearers. They are the Aarons and Hurs that hold up the arms of Moses.

Luke 4:20 - attendant

1 Corinthians 4:1 - ministers of Christ

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________38. Petra petra

Rock

This is an immovable, invincible rock that Jesus called Revelation Knowledge.

Matthew 16:18

18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church (ekalleo); and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

a) To understand petra and petros in a deeper light, let us look at what Jesus was talking about to His disciples.

Matthew 16:13-17

13When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.

15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

b) Jesus was making a profound statement to Peter about the part that revelation knowledge (epiknosis) plays in the believer’s life. It was epigknosis that brought Peter into knowing how heaven felt about things concerning who Jesus was when He asked the question, “who do men say that I am?” Then He asked His disciples, “who do you say that I am?” There ought to be a difference between who the world says that Jesus truly is, and what you as a believer say about who Jesus is.

c) Revelation Knowledge can brings us to a place to see Jesus in a different light than the world sees Him. The very ability to discern the difference is supernatural. Flesh and blood does not concur who Jesus really is. Revelation, or, epiknosis is the difference, It is the petra, the immovable, invincible rock of revelation that causes us to prevail. Petra is a

56

knowledge that comes from God and is just like an immovable rock that the gates of hell cannot prevail against! This brings us to our next word, petros, in where Jesus calls Peter a “chip off the old block!”

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________39. Petros  petros

Peter, translated “little rock or pebble”

a) Jesus was very impressed with what Simon Barjona said out of his spirit! A lot of time you never had to wonder what Simon was thinking. In this case, what he said was revelation knowledge. Jesus really wanted to commend Simon and decided to give him a new name that everyone would call him just to mark the occasion.

b) “Simon, what you said you didn’t get from your head. What you heard came straight from the Throne!

c) This event was very significant in the spirit realm. There is nothing like a person learning to hear the Holy Spirit on the inside to be able to discern truth.

d) Jesus is stating to Simon Barjona that form this point on, “you are changed.” Petros is Simon’s new name! Our name was changed at the time the revelation of who Jesus really is happens to us. Our spirit is made alive unto God. We are forever changed for eternity. We take His name; “Christian.” We become a new creation, changed from the inside out! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Matthew 16:18

18And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________40. Mimites mimites

To follow, to mimic

a) a cry from the Apostle Paul’s heart for people to follow him, even to mimic his walk with God.

1 Corinthians 4:16

16Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

Philippians 3:17

17Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.

57

Revelation 14:4

4These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb

b) This verse speaks of the young men that are on fire for God during the Tribulation Period. They are said to mimic the Lamb of God and to do the works of Jesus on the earth during that time period.

c) During the whole 7 years of Trials and Tribulations coming to the earth, God will always have people that will love Him and will mimetes Him even unto death. There is the Great Multitude John saw that will repent and live for God after the Rapture of the Church. Think of those you have witnessed to that thought you were crazy. After you disappear, they will know that what you told them was the truth! The Great Multitude will be on the earth during the first 3.5 years of the Tribulation Period. Then the Antichrist will have to deal with the 144,00, and then, the two witnesses. All of these groups of people will mimites Jesus on the earth and frustrate the devil’s work.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________41. Machira makira

Sword, the official sword of the Roman Soldier

This particular sword was so much different than what the Barbarians carried at this time period. The Barbarians carried a long, heavy sword that was hard to maneuver. The machira was unique because it was easily drawn and much quicker to wield in time of battle. I like to think Paul knew exactly what he was doing when he compare the spoken word of God coming out of a believers mouth to the machira. The only

offensive weapon we have against the powers of darkness is speaking God’s Word in every given situation. That is exactly how Jesus defeated every temptation thrown at Him in the wilderness by speaking God’s Word out of His mouth and quoting out of the Old Testament to Satan.

Matthew 26:47,51,52

Luke 21:24, Luke 22:38

Hebrews 4:12

12For the word (logos#5)of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit (pnuema#31), and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (kardia).

Ephesians 6:17 17And take the helmet of salvation (soteria#2), and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word (rhema#1) of God:

58

a) As a believer, we are to take the machira of the Spirit and use it as an offensive weapon against Satan and his cohorts.

b) The word of God becomes a sword when the believer speaks the living Word from his mouth!

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________42. Ekalleo/Ekklesia  ekalleo

Church

The Greek word literally means, “the called out ones.” Ek - “out of,” and Kaleo - “a calling”

a) ekalleo is people who are born of God and have been washed in the blood of Jesus.

b) it is not a building or facility

c) “I will build My Church - Matthew 16:18

d) “The Church as His Body “- Ephesians 1:22, Ephesians 5:23

e) a company of believers - Acts 20:28, 1 Corinthians 1:2, Galatians 1:13. 1 Thes 1:1, 1 Timothy 3:5, Acts 9:31, Romans 16:23

f) The Church of Jesus Christ is the most powerful force on the earth. We are the “called out ones!” As the Ekalleo, we are to show the world the way to eternal life.

g) It is the ekalleo who are called out of the curse of the law, being poverty, sickness, and spiritual death. (Galatians 3:13) Not just called from something but to something.

1 Peter 2:9 (King James Version)

 9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;

h) The Church is called out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Our victory is now! So many preachers want to put our victory off into the future after we die! No! Now is the day of salvation! The Church of Jesus Christ is His ekalleo in the earth for all men to see.

Ephesians 1:22

22And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Ephesians 3:10 10To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold (multi-dimensional)wisdom (Sophia) of God,

43. Zoe  zoe

Translated life, the God-kind, or, the God kind of life.

It is life in its most absolute sense. It is life the way God has it.

* Think of zoe as the force that flows from God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Three in One have never been sick, tired, or broke. The Triune God never worries or frets! God has never been anxious over the stock market. He is the same; yesterday, today, and tomorrow. (Hebrews 13:8)

John 6:63

63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

a) Jesus tells us the words He speaks are full of zoe. His words are life changing.

Ephesians 4:18

18Having the understanding (kardia#50) darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heartL kardia)

b) man who was alienated from this kind of life because of sin.(hamartia#33) The above scripture speaks of the “blindness that was in their hearts.” There are different kinds of blindness in the scriptures. There is the blindness of Israel in recognizing Jesus Christ as Messiah. Then there is the blindness that Satan has over the heathen/gentile.(2 Corinthians 4:4) Lastly, literal blindness of not being able to naturally see. Regardless of what type of blindness, the zoe of God, when it is allowed to flow, heals and delivers those in captivity from Satan’s authority and bondage.

John 3:15

15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

c) through receiving Christ, man returns to his original state of dominion and becomes a participant in this life again.

d) This God kind of life is available to every man, woman, and child on the earth.

Acts 3:14-16

12-16When Peter saw he had a congregation, he addressed the people:

"Oh, Israelites, why does this take you by such complete surprise, and why stare at us as if our power or piety made him walk? The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our ancestors, has glorified his Son Jesus. The very One that Pilate called innocent, you repudiated. You repudiated the Holy One, the Just One,

and asked for a murderer in his place. You no sooner killed the Author of Life

than God raised him from the dead—and we're the witnesses. Faith in Jesus' name put this man, whose condition you know so well, on his feet—yes, faith and nothing but faith put this man healed and whole right before your eyes.

d) we become participants of the zoe of God!

Colossians 3:14

1 John 5:26

1 John 1:12

1 John 3:14

2 Corinthians 5:4 This zoe will flow through my entire body on Resurrection Day.

2 Timothy 1:10

44. Kairos kairos

Time, season, a certain window of time.

W.E. Vine’s says is ”primarily a due measure, due proportion, a fixed or definite period of time.”

a) this is a certain appointed “window of time,” as (chronos #39) is “time in general.”

b) kairos is called an opportune time - Romans 5:6

c) a season - Galatians 6:10

d) the coming age - 1 Thessalonians 5:1

Luke 18:28-30

28Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.

29And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,

30Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

Mark 10:30 30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

A kairos moment in a “window of time.”

a) for a harvest - Matthew 13:30

b) for a certain time of reaping - Galatians 6:9

c) for a time of punishment - Matthew 8:29

d) a season of discharging duties - Luke 12:42

e) an opportunity to do some divine good - Matthew 26:18, Galatians 6:10, Ephesians 5:16

f) an actual window of prophecy being fulfilled - Luke 1:20, Acts 3:19, 1 Peter 1:11

g) a kairos with eternal purpose - Luke 4:13, 2 Corinthians 6:2

Malachi 3:10 10Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

The windows of heaven that will open to you are kairos moments. Blessings that come upon the Believer because of being in the right place at the right time. God opens up the windows of heaven to the tither!. Think about a kairos in your life; when you met your spouse, or, you were in the right place at the exact right time to be a part of a wonderful business deal. Have you ever received a word of prophecy that really ministered to you?

45. Metamorphoo metamorphoo

Transformed, transfigured; the process of renewing the mind to the word of God.

Romans 12:2

2And be not conformed to this world (cosmos#29): but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

a) this is metamorphosis from the inside out

b) as a caterpillar goes through metamorphisis and changes into a butterfly. The Word of God goes into our hearts and as we meditate on it day and night, it renews our mind, will, and emotions

c) this is power to undergo a complete change of thinking, from carnal thoughts to having the mind of Christ. This is a gradual process, and for the Christian, will be for eternity.

d) W.E. Vine’s Dictionary reads, “ the power to undergo a complete change, which under the power of God will find expression of character and conduct.”

2 Corinthians 3:18 18But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass (mirror) the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

e) The written word of God is like a mirror. In the epistle of James, we see him speak of the mirror as looking into God’s word. A good mirror doesn’t lie! What you see is what you get.

f) The process of metamorphoo happens every time the believer submerses himself in the word of God. Whether you hear it with your ears, or, you see it with your eyes, the Word produces a metamorphosis of a new wave of thinking, which produces a new way of believing.

46. Technon  technon

Son, children, but denotes some maturity

a) a son old enough to be involved in the family business

Ephesians 4:14 14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness(kubeia), whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

John 1:12 (Amplified Bible)

power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name--(A)

Romans 8:14 (Amplified Bible)

14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

b) A techno understands his authority in Christ and uses it! He knows the power in the name of Jesus. He knows the power in the blood of Jesus. It is only in the word of God that growing up spiritually is possible. From babyhood, to childhood, and then to manhood occurs when we are willing to constantly sit under good solid teaching. Although the koine greek has several words for baby, children, and sons; technon and huios are the two primary words used in the New Testament for sons.

c) As you meditate on techno, I encourage you to envision a spiritual man; one who is governed by the word of God. A man or woman that has outgrown carnality. Carnos is the word meaning body ruled or sense ruled. Depending on your spiritual diet will depend on whether you grow out of carnality into Sonship.

1 Peter 2:2 (King James Version)

2As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

Ephesians 4:15 (King James Version)

15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

1 Corinthians 3:1-3 (King James Version)

1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

d) The technon is no longer a babe in Christ.

e) The technon is no longer carnal.

f) The technon eats solid, spiritual food and loves revelation(epigknosis#27)

g) The technon is a (prebuteros #6).

Note: For a deeper study of technon, Pastor Ward has a book available called, Prophetic Prayer to Sonship in which he explains technon in more detail. Go to the ministry website at www.ncmitraining,com )

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________47. Musterion  musterion

Mystery, fraternity, as in the Magi in Scripture.

Paul said, “I have learned the secrets.” (Philippians 4:12) This can only be known as divine revelation. This revelation is only made known at an appointed time. (kairos)

a) to be illuminated by the Holy Spirit concerning the benefits available through membership to the Body of Christ.

b) as musterion unfolds to the believer, there are actual “perks” that are revealed just because you become a child of God. Jesus said there is a peace, but, not as the world gives. Only in Him can a person know this peace.

c) musterion can also be known as part of the revelation that is coming to the Church concerning the events of prophecy concerning Last Day events. Though the world says the Bible contradicts itself, though many have said the Book of Revelation cannot be understood, the Holy Spirit takes the events that are spoken of and enlightens the believer to understand.

d) musterion is everything in the Father’s will that will be accomplished in due time. (Revelation 10:7, Ephesians 1:9)

e) musterion is everything the Father has to reveal to His Church in this dispensation, and, in the Millennium to come.

Ephesians 3:4

4Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge (epigknosis) in the mystery of Christ.

Ephesians 3:9

9And to make all men see what is the fellowship (koinonia) of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by

Jesus Christ:

f) musterion reveals the benefits or perks of being a member of the Body of Christ.

g) The Gospels recorded that Jesus spoke in parables and called them mysteries, In these mysteries were principles for Kingdom living.

48. Edificeo edificeo

Build, building, edifice

Jude 1:20 20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

64

Jude 1:20 (Amplified Bible)

20But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [[a]make progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit;

Jude 1:20 (21st Century King James Version)

20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

a) another translation says, “energize” yourself by praying in the Spirit.

b) edificeo is the result of praying in the language of heaven.

c) an outward manifestation of an inward power

1 Corinthians 14:14 (Amplified Bible)

14For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, my spirit [by the [a]Holy Spirit within me] prays, but my mind is unproductive [it bears no fruit and helps nobody].

d) a doorway into the supernatural by praying from your spirit instead of praying out of your intellect

e) There is a true refreshing that comes by praying in the Spirit. When you receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit and begin to speak with other tongues, suddenly a whole new world opens to you.

f) Edificeo brings rest and refreshment that God wants you to have as you go through life. This is a result of your spirit praying directly to God.

Romans 8:26-28 (Amplified Bible)

26So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.

27And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind (plan) of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes (entunchano)and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God's will.(A)

28We are assured and know that [[a]God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.

g) When we have unanswered questions in our lives concerning jobs, financial decisions, etc., as we pray in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit will impart the will of God into our hearts. The Holy Spirit builds us up to hear on the inside of us that “still small voice.” In the above verse, the Apostle Paul speaks of the Holy Spirit “taking hold together with” our spirit to pray out the perfect prayer.

h) When I pray in the spirit I am praying in tongues. I am allowing my recreated human spirit to ascend over my mind and body and I begin to pray in the languages of men and angels. (I Corinthians 13) The evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit is our ability to pray in tongues.

I) There are five different instances in the Book of Acts where people were baptized in

65

the Holy Spirit. Four out of five times people that were baptized in the Holy Spirit began to pray in tongues. As a result of their spirits yielding to the Holy Spirit, edificeo , or the refreshing came to them!

Why pray in tongues? Paul did!

1 Corinthians 14:18 (King James Version)

18I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________49. Tharreo tharreo

Hope, literally “ a supernatural hope in a supernatural strength.”

Romans 4:18

18Who against (natural) hope believed in (supernatural) hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

a) Two kinds of hope revealed in this verse.

b) this supernatural hope is not dependent upon circumstances

1 Thessalonians 5:8 (Amplified Bible)

8But we belong to the day; therefore, let us be sober and put on the breastplate (corslet) of faith and love and for a helmet the hope of salvation (soteria).

c) in the above verse, tharreo is called a piece of the Christian’s armor

2 Corinthians 5:6 6Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

2 Corinthians 7:16 16I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.

Hebrews 13:6 6So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear (phobia) what man shall do unto me.

c) when natural hope seems to run out; the believer has a tharreo that never quits! Tharreo is a knowing that God brings the blessing and covenant power that works regardless of the circumstances!

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________50. Kardia kardia

Heart, understanding, the hidden man of the heart (Ephesians 1:18) Kardia occupies the most important place in the human system, yet, in the greek it stands for man’s entire mental and moral activity, including rational and emotional elements.

66

a) kardia is used for describing “the hidden springs of the personal life.” (W.E. VINE)

b) kardia is described in scripture as the sphere of Divine influence. (Romans 2:15, Acts 15:9)

c) The hidden man of the heart considered to be the real man. (1 Peter 3:4)

Hebrews 4:12

12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword (machira),

piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (kardia)

Mark 11:23

23For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith

Ephesians 4:18 18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life (zoe) of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heartL kardia)

Acts 14:17

James 5:5

d) kardia is used in the following scriptures:

1. Desires - Matthew 5:28, 2 Peter 2:14

2. Affections - Luke 24:32, Acts 21:13

3. Perceptions - John 12:40, Ephesians 4:18

4. Understanding - Matthew 13:15, Romans 1:21

5. Conscience - Acts 2:37, 1 John 3:20

6. Intentions - Hebrews 14:12. 1 Peter 4:1

7. Purpose - Acts 11:23, 2 Corinthians 9:7

8. The human will - Romans 6:17, Colossians 3:15

9. Heart - Mark 11:23, Romans 10:10, Hebrews 3:12

e) kardia is a supernatural blending of the soul, mind will emotions, intellect, and reasoning, and the spirit of man that is the real man. The part of man that is instantly transformed into the very Divine nature when he receives the lordship of Jesus Christ. Only the Word of God has the actual power to separate the soul from the spirit. (Hebrews 4:12)

f) we get our English word, cardio from this Greek word. Although cardio and cardiovascular has to do with the human heart or pump organ, the koine has a deeper meaning. Kardia refers also to the human emotions and will of a person.

g) There is a definite connection between the pump organ known as the heart, and the consciences of a man. Jesus told His disciples that in the Last Days, “men’s hearts would fail them for fear.” It is a proven medical fact that the strong emotions of rage and anger affect the human heart.

h) God has made provision for man to walk in a wholeness that only He can provide. We know that it is Satan that kills, steals, and destroys. (John 10:10) Only through the blood of Jesus Christ can a man receive wholeness by becoming born again. Man’s kardia, his will, his conscience, and his intentions can only be made whole by accepting Jesus Christ and allowing His blood to cleanse him from all sin.

67

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________51. Phobia phobia

Fear, fearful, timid, fearfulness, dread, terror, that which is caused by being scared.

a) phobia is terror from the enemy that brings torment - 2 Corinthians 5:11, 1 Peter 3:14

b) we can cast out phobia or paralyze it in our lives if we exercise our authority (exousia) we have in the name of Jesus.

c) the opposite of phobia is pistos.

d) phobia activates Satan as pistos activates Divine forces in our lives. Demonic powers “smell out” phobia as a shark “smells out” blood in the ocean as far away as 2 miles.

2 Timothy 1:7

7For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power (exousia), and of love (agape), and of a sound mind.

e) the above Scripture reveals the spirit of phobia that does not come from God. Instead, we receive the spirit of power (exousia), love (agapeo), and a sound mind.

f) I encourage you to start treating phobia as a real entity that comes to rob you of your faith and authority. The spirit of fear comes to steal your peace! Phobia is a demon spirit! As a Christian, refuse to give in to a spirit of phobia.

g) The believer must choose a spirit of power, or exousia over yielding to phobia.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________52. Kubeia  kubeia

a) the greek denotes kubeia as in “loaded dice.”

b) It’s never a good idea to get in a poker game with the devil. We do that when we chase after false teachers who are out to build their own kingdoms.

c) You can stay out of kubeia by sitting under the anointed five fold ministry . (Ephesians 4:11)

Ephesians 4:14

14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

68

d) There are some believers who have fallen into the kubeia of men who preach the gospel for their own personal gain. This happens when a believer is gullible in their babyhood stage of Christianity or are carnal in their thinking. This is the most vulnerable time for Christians when they do not have enough of the Word of God on the inside of them to be able to recognize truth from error.

e) This is why having a Pastor and a good local Church is so important to the believer. Also, it is vital to sit under the Five fold ministry gifts so they are not just hearing on preacher.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________53. Ethnos

people groups ethnos

a) we get our English word “ethnic” from this greek word.

Acts 2:4-5 (King James Version)

4And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

a) The baptism of the Holy Spirit that happened on the Day of Pentecost was not a “closed event.” There were at least 16 ethnos represented that were filled with the Holy Spirit that same day. Read the following verses and see God’s plan unfold to the ethnos from around the world:

8And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

9Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia,

10Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes,

11Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

b) It is God’s will that the Church reach every ethnos or people groups from every tribe and tongue. World Missions is God’s idea!

Matthew 24:7

7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

c) Jesus is speaking more of “people groups” than He is nations with borders. In the Last

Days people groups will rise against other people groups. This will definitely be a strategy of Satan in the next few years to cause great hatred between the races. In Christ, there should be no division of ethnos in our local churches.

54. Atomos  atomos

Moment, atom, it means, “indivisible.”

Literally, “to be translated in an atomic second.” at the time of the Rapture of the Church.

1 Corinthians 15:52

52In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

a) early in the last century, many scientists believed that the atom was the smallest unit of matter. They eventually found out it is possible to split the atom into neutrons, protons, and electrons. It was in learning how to split the atom that gave us the atomic bomb.

b) atoms actually retained its original meaning as a substance or matter that cannot be divided.

c) In Corinthians, Paul tells us at that moment when we are raptured, we will be transformed in a moment, an amount of time which is incapable of being divided, altered, or shortened.

d) when the trumpet sounds (Thes 4:16) there will be the coming together of the Redeemed of the Lord who will be called forth from the earth.

e) On the day of the Rapture, the spirits of those that are in heaven will return to “rein habit” their earthly bodies which then will be resurrected to immortality. Those who are here on the earth at that time will also receive a resurrected body and will be instantly transformed. Then, all the believers whether they have died and gone to be with the Lord in times past will get their new bodies also! In an atomos, a moment, we will have a body just like Jesus had at the resurrection!

________________________________________________________________________

____________________________________________________________55. Tagma tagma

Divine Order, ranking, arrangement, a series or succession

1 Corinthians 15:22-23

22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

a) This word denotes a Grecian military ranking or position.

b) As Christ Is Commander-n-Chief, followed by the respective ranks or grades of those under His authority and power.

c) When it comes to the resurrection, Jesus was the first resurrection, and, will be

70

followed by a precise moment of His appearance at the end of the Age.

d) Even though this word is not used in the Old Testament writings (being it was written in Hebrew), I thought this next verse in Joel was fitting to share with you:

_Joel 2:7 (Amplified Bible)

7They run like mighty men; they climb the wall like men of war. They march each one [straight ahead] on his ways, and they do not break their ranks.

e) The saints who are now on the earth, have an opportunity to come into their authority by understanding authority.

f) Tagma is even in the listing of the rankings of the Five fold ministry in 1 Corinthians 12:28:

1 Corinthians 12:28 (King James Version)

28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

g) Starting with the Apostle, then the prophet, thirdly, we have the Teacher’s ministry listed. The Paul does something unusual and begins to tell of the endowments that are to follow the ministry of the evangelist. Even though the Evangelist ministry is not directly mentions. The gifts that follow that office are mentioned; gifts of healings and the working of miracles. The Pastor’s ministry is also in that verse; helps, governments, and diversity of tongues. This is not to say that the Pastor is the least authorities in the Five Fold Ministry. It is the Pastor who is called the Chief Elder of the Local Church,

h) In tagma, Jesus is the head of the Universal Church, as the Pastor is the head of the Local Church.

I) In tagma, Jesus is over the Five Fold Ministry. The Holy Spirit is over the nine gifts, and, the Father worketh “all in all.” (I Corinthians 12;1-5)

j) In tagma, there is even a Divine Order on how we will ride with the Lord Jesus at the end of the Tribulation Period when we will come back with Him to watch the King of Kings in action defeating Satan, the Antichrist, and the armies that rise against Israel!

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________56. Epitheian      epitheian

Strife, factions, a willingness to use divisive and manipulative means to get your own way, or, a striving for superiority.

1) a manipulation of resources to promote one’s own views and divisive means to promote one’s own views and interests.

2) pushing to be right when you know by the Word of God that you are wrong.

3) opposing one’s spiritual authority in your life through manipulation.

4) Those who boast and lie against the Truth which produces an arrogance in the people against each other and the absolute standard in life, the Word of God.

71

James 3:14

14But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

Romans 2:8 (The Message)

5-8You're not getting by with anything. Every refusal and avoidance of God adds fuel to the fire. The day is coming when it's going to blaze hot and high, God's fiery and righteous judgment. Make no mistake: In the end you get what's coming to you—Real Life for those who work on God's side, but to those who insist on getting their own way and take the path of least resistance, Fire!

Galatians 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

a) Epitheian, sad to say, has literally destroyed churches. It is ridiculous to think of the Christians out there who judge someone for smoking a cigarette, yet, their own untamed tongues have split churches down the middle!

Philippians 1:17 (Amplified Bible)

17[a]But the former preach Christ out of a party spirit, insincerely [out of no pure motive, but thinking to annoy me], supposing they are making my bondage more bitter and my chains more galling.

Philippians 2:3 (Amplified Bible)

3Do nothing from factional motives [through contentiousness, strife, selfishness, or for unworthy ends] or prompted by conceit and empty arrogance. Instead, in the true spirit of humility (lowliness of mind) let each regard the others as better than and superior to himself [thinking more highly of one another than you do of yourselves].

James 3:16 (The Message)

Live Well, Live Wisely

13-16Do you want to be counted wise, to build a reputation for wisdom? Here's what you do: Live well, live wisely, live humbly. It's the way you live, not the way you talk, that counts. Mean-spirited ambition isn't wisdom. Boasting that you are wise isn't wisdom. Twisting the truth to make yourselves sound wise isn't wisdom. It's the furthest thing from wisdom—it's animal cunning, devilish conniving. Whenever you're trying to look better than others or get the better of others, things fall apart and everyone ends up at the others' throats.

b) Epitheian is a demon spirit. Once it gets a foothold in a believer’s life, it can bring utter destruction.

2 Timothy 2:24-26 (King James Version)

24And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

 25In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

72

26And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

c) notice the aboce scripture says the believer who is caught up in strife is under the control of Satan?

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

57.  Angelos  angelos

Angel, messenger

Hebrews 12:15-24 (King James Version)

15Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

16Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.

17For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

18For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

19And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

20(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

21And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

22But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

24And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.

1. WE LIVE IN A TIME PERIOD WHEN IT'S BETTER TO BE AROUND TODAY THAN EVEN WHEN JESUS WALKED THE EARTH.

2. IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, THE SHEKINAH GLORY WOULD SHOW UP, BUT THE BIBLE SAYS OUR DISPENSATION IS EVEN BETTER!

3. IN THE OLD TESTAMENT, WHEN MOSES WAS LEADING THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, THEY HAD THE CLOUD COVER BY DAY AND HEAVENLY MANNA GIVEN TO THEM DAILY.

THERE ARE THOSE WHO WOULD SAY THAT LIVING IN THE TIME OF MOSES AND GOD APPEARING ON MOUNT SINAI WOULD BE INCREDABLE TIMES TO LIVE IN. THE WRITER OF HEBREWS SAYS THAT WE HAVE A BETTER COVENANT! WHEN THE HOLY SPIRIT CAME UPON MOSES, IT

73

WAS FOR A CERTAIN PERIOD OF TIME TO ACCOMPLISH CERTAIN TASKS.

"...BUT WE HAVE COME UNTO MOUNT ZION...

"...WE HAVE COME INTO A INUMERABLE COMPANY OF ANGELS..AND THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY..."

Daniel 7:10

10A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set,

and the books were opened.

Revelation 5:11

11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

3. TEN THOUSAND TIMES TEN THOUSAND!

A. WE WILL SEE IN THE WORD OF GOD THERE ARE RANKS IN THE ANGELIC HOST. . ANGELS ARE NOT JUST INUMERABLE IN HEAVEN, BUT ALSO, ON THE EARTH. ONLY OUR HEAVENLY FATHER KNOWS EXACTLY HOW MANY ANGELS THERE REALLY ARE! YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW HOW MANY HAIRS IS ATTACHED TO YOUR HEAD, BUT YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER HAS THE EXACT COUNT.

B. FATHER GOD TOLD ABRAHAM THAT HIS DESCENDENTS WOULD BE AS THE SANDS OF THE SEA. FATHER GOD KNOWS HOW MANY GRANULES OF SAND THERE ARE ON THE EARTH. THERE IS A NUMBER, JUST LIKE HOW MANY ANGELS THERE ARE, FATHER KNOWS, BUT WE DON'T KNOW!

THE ANGEL'S CHARACTER

Hebrews 1:6-7

6And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

7And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

1. THE FIRST TWO CHAPTERS OF THE BOOK OF HEBREWS ARE ALL ABOUT THE MINISTRY OF ANGELS.

2. FATHER GOD BROUGHT THE FIRST BEGOTTEN INTO THE WORLD (VS.7) AND OF THE ANGELS, FATHER SAYS, "WHO MAKE HIS ANGELS

74

SPIRITS AND HIS MINISTERS FLAMES OF FIRE..."

3. ANGELS ARE CREATED BEINGS.

A. ANGELS ARE THE OLDEST OF CREATION.

B. FATHER SAID, "MY SON CREATED THE ANGELS..."

C. ANGELS DO NOT HAVE BODIES BUT CAN APPEAR IN A BODY.

4. ANGELS ARE SPIRIT BEINGS.

5. ANGELS ARE LIKE, "FLAMES OF FIRE." = "LIGHT CREATURES"

6. ANGELS CAN LOOK LIKE HUMAN BEINGS.

Hebrews 1:13-14

13But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Hebrews 12:22-23

22But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

23To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

A. MINISTERING FOR THEM! HEIRS OF SALVATION!

B. WHAT THE ANGELS DID FOR JESUS WHILE HE WAS ON THE EARTH, THE ANGELS NOW DO FOR THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST!

C. WE WANT TO KEEP THE ANGELS BUSY! EVEN DURING THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY!

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

58.   ARCHE    arche

- principalities - lower level devils, familiar spirits

a) These are the lower ranking demons that are called familiar spirits.

Ephesians 6:12 (King James Version)

12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers (kosmokrator, the world-rulers of this darkness),

against spiritual wickedness in high places (epouranios, or, upon or above the heavens).

b) actually a list of demonic forces from their lowest ranking to their highest in

75

which can come from generational curses from a person’s lineage, such as poverty, infirmity, lying, religious spirits, etc. Thank God we can break the power of arche spirits and all demon host by the Blood of Jesus.

c) this word describes how the Apostle Paul saw the angelic host and the rankings of demon powers. Dominions entrusted to them by Satan with certain jurisdiction in the order of things. These are where strategies are planned against people.

d) As angelic host and rankings of angels are in the Scriptures, so is arche or the demonic host under Satan.

e) As a believer, it is good to have a working knowledge of the angels who are all around us, and, an understanding of Satan and how his demonic forces are at work. Always remember, Satan, and every arch, principality, and power is subject to the name of Jesus!

f) Most believers will ever have to personally deal with arche. Usually you will only deal with the lower level devils or familiar spirits. As you study through these verses, always be conscious of the fact that the newest born spiritual baby who just excepted Jesus into their hearts still have more authority over Satan! The Bible says we are seated “far above all principalities and powers! “

Ephesians 1:20-21 (King James Version)

20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

21Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

This could be the most important prayer you will ever pray…

Father, I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He was crucified, buried, and resurrected, to pay the price in full so I can live victoriously over sin, sickness, and poverty (both spiritual and natural), and spiritual death.

Jesus, I confess You as my Savior and Lord. I Thank You that I am saved. I now become a new creation and I become righteous in You. Old things have passed away and all things become new (see 2 Corinthians 5:17, 21).

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for empowering me with Your Spirit so I can live an overcoming, abundant life and become a bold witness of You!

Today my new life begins in You, Lord Jesus. Thank You!
