How do I seek the Kingdom of God?

Colossians 1:13

13Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Colossians 1:13

New Living Translation (NLT)

13 For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,

It is a wonderful revelation when we learn that Jesus Christ not only made a way for us to have ETERNAL LIFE, He has also rescued us from every snare of darkness! The above verse says we were RESCUED! Rescued from the authority that Satan had over mankind.

I love the PAST TENSE of God’s word. We WERE rescued!

Transferred FROM DARKNESS to ETERNAL LIFE.

Transferred from sickness to health.

Translated from lack into having a sufficiency in all things.

Matthew 6:25-33

New Living Translation (NLT)

25 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

28 “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

31 “So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32 These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

As a Disciple of Christ, this is where you begin! It all starts here!

1. When you SEEK THE KINGDOM OF GOD, FIRST, Jesus said all these THINGS shall be added unto you.

2. God takes care of everything when you put Him first!

3. As we examine the above verses, we see that Jesus said our Heavenly Father even cares for all of the birds. HOW MUCH MORE does He love us and wants to take care of us?

4. Jesus also told His disciples, that if you are worrying and fretting about what you will eat, drink, and what you will have to wear, this is having LITTLE FAITH.

Matthew 6:28-30

King James Version (KJV)

28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

“Consider the lilies of the field…”

For so many years as I grew up in Church hearing the sermons about the lilies of the field, I would always think about the pretty Easter lilies that Mom bought. The Church had them arrayed all across the front of the platform. I always felt that the Lord would look out after those precious, beautiful lilies . Then, I found out that wasn’t what Jesus was referring to.

You know the wild flowers that grow up and down the highways in the summer? Kind of like a dime a dozen? They are everywhere! Most of the time we don’t pay a lot of attention to these wild flowers. This is what Jesus was referring to! The Summer wildflowers that seem so insignificant, Our Master looks after each one of them!

Jesus said, “Stop being perpetually worried and uneasy!”

5. Refuse to stay in little faith.

6. Seeking the Kingdom is finding His way of doing things.

7. Seeking the Kingdom is being DOERS of the Word of God.

8. WE must purposely seek the Kingdom of God.

What does the word SEEK mean?

Seek = to research, investigate, consult (Hebrew) O.T.

Seek = to search the heart diligently (Greek) N.T.

1. We are to investigate and research the Word of God.

2. We must make a conscious effort to put the Word first in our daily Lives.

3. Jesus said, within the Kingdom of God, we have everything we need!

4. Whatever the need is, God has the ANSWER.

2 Peter 1:3

Amplified Bible (AMP)

3For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue).

2 Peter 1:3

New Living Translation (NLT)

Growing in Faith

3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

5.We have everything we need and is necessary for life and godliness.

6. The Hebrew word for SEEK could also be translated, to CONSULT.

7. Keep researching the Kingdom. Never stop researching the Word! This is what Jesus meant when He told us to SEEK THE KINGDOM FIRST.

2 Chronicles 26:5

New Living Translation (NLT)

5 Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God. And as long as the king sought guidance from the LORD, God gave him success.

Footnotes:

2 Chronicles 26:5 As in Syriac and Greek versions; Hebrew reads who instructed him in divine visions.

King Uzziah walked in PROSPERITY as long as he sought the Lord.

Psalm 34:8-10

New Living Translation (NLT)

8 Taste and see that the LORD is good.

Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!

9 Fear the LORD, you his godly people,

for those who fear him will have all they need.

10 Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry,

but those who trust in the LORD will lack no good thing.

In the following scripture, WISDOM is speaking. In the book of Proverbs, it is all about a Father, Solomon, teaching his son, David, receive instructions about life, women, co=signing, the sluggard, and even friends. In the following verses, think of this as WISDOM speaking to you in FIRST PERSON.

Proverbs 8:17-21

New Living Translation (NLT)

17 “I love all who love me.

Those who search will surely find me.

18 I have riches and honor,

as well as enduring wealth and justice.

19 My gifts are better than gold, even the purest gold,

my wages better than sterling silver!

20 I walk in righteousness,

in paths of justice.

21 Those who love me inherit wealth.

I will fill their treasuries.

8. Wisdom, who is Jesus said, those who love me will inherit wealth. Those who search for Me will find Me.

Confession:

I walk in righteousness because I am diligently seeking the Kingdom of God/ All the days of my life I will consult the Scriptures for my daily living and I will investigate all of the promises that are in His Word.

I refuse to worry and be in little faith! Jesus even cares for the wildflowers that grow on the sides of the road; how much more I know He cares for me! I seek the Lord from my hear diligently and everything I have need of is already mine!

Thank you Lord for all the blessings that are overtaking me. Angels, I send you out to work the favor and blessings of God on my behalf. Angels, I believe right now you are going before me to prepare for me the blessings of Abraham of being in the right place at the right time, in Jesus name. Amen.
